I meant between Any/Easy/Normal/Hard selections of the Story and Time Attack. After all there is no "default setting" for game type, just the game and system settings.
Just noticed that Story and Time Attack have now also been added to ILs but that there isn't a base difficulty mentioned in the rules, only the general game setting things.
Is this an oversight? I'm not sure how to submit to it properly in it's current form.
I assume the Dragon holding the item allocates a specifc location in memory so maybe if we figured out which one that was we could check more start time references through an external hex viewer but failing that yeah It'd have to be brute forced otherwise.
Would this mean there may be a way to guarantee a Dragonstone Seed?
I wanted to quickly address this here on SRC instead of just our community discord to make sure that everyone is on the same page as the last time we had to do this there was quite a bit of confusion.
Since CAPCOM released their Trials seasonally, only certain characters can do certain volumes of trials and it just so happens that for the new Vol. 6 they decided not to include any of the already existing characters for whatever reason.
Sadly due to layout constraints of SRC, we are unable to show this discrepancy in a way that doesn't involve mass pings of "WR Notifications" for the areas we needed to express can't be submitted.
With this, all volumes of seasonal trials that CAPCOM have stated they planned to release have now been implemented into the leaderboard! Hopefully by the time Street Fighter 6 comes out SRC will have a better labelling system for their IL's that we can utilise for consolidation.
Thankyou for your understanding and goodluck on your runs!
Incidentally, I remember @Tsukumo said something in a different thread about being interested in Trials as well so there's clearly enough interest here from different people to justify it's inclusion to me.
Adding new character or category variables for IL boards is a pretty simple process, I honestly can't see any good reason at all to arbitrarily hold off until the end of the year when all the DLC is released imo.
Looks like both MiSTer and GBA runs show at the same time atm instead of overwriting/invalidating eachother. Could we get that fixed up too?
Incidentally if it helps, mods typically try to verify submissions at a maximum of 2 weeks as per SRC site rules but you only really see that kind of wait time in extreme cases where the leaderboard is much smaller and less active than somewhere like KZ.
Can just add characters as they become playable since they're isolated categories as far as individual characters are concerned, that's what we did for the SFV boards.
Sadly no from what I can remember watching my old PBs again. Back when I was running this game I was using a Fightstick; I'd just try to adjust the killing order to get the ones in the back row that would appear first and then throw things forward so at the very least it wouldn't lose as much time that way.
With fighting game boards it's typically more like a minimum difficulty threshold rather than a strict requirment of any one specific difficulty unless the board mods go out of their way to specify (usually done to single out hardest difficulty as it's own challenge category) but since that wasn't done here you should be fine.
There are a small amount of niche cases with some games where higher difficulty means easier predictibility and therefore abuse of AI maniplation but usually it's too much risk for too little reward when compared to easier difficulties so there's typically no need to invalidate a run that's losing time due to harder AI.
Just thought I'd add my two cents to it but yeah, not sure which one the mods want - seems like they can either mandate default, use default as a minimum threshold or make V.Hard into a sub-category tab.
I noticed we already have multiple people with submitted and accepted pbs using the MiSTer FPGA so I'm guessing this is just a simple oversight? I'd like to see the platform being officially selectable; should be a simple checkbox toggle under the "Obscure Platforms" dropdown list in the edit game section for mods.
Thankyou and I hope to see this adjusted soon.
So in my recent PB I found out there's not just a 2nd quest but the game does infact play on an infinite loop - what's more the dugeon layout of subsequent quests appears to be identical to the first quest dungeon layouts as far as I can tell, right down to the items given - however someone in my chat was saying there's a special icon mark that gets given to you after you max out your high score with a count of 9999 as a kind of easter egg.
I remember seeing on @LiteralGrill 's Any% guide document that there was a community interest in routing 100% but there doesn't appear to be any actual changes aside from the high score easter egg beyond the 1st Quest. I suppose there's potential for some kind of max score category tho? ...I mean, I'd gladly do some attempts of something like that but I imagine it'd be awhile until someone masochistic enough to join me turns up y'know xD
I forgot to mention, the only other alternative I'm aware of is for if you happen to have an NVIDIA Graphics Card you can utilise the NVIDIA Broadcast software (with 30xx series or above) or NVIDIA RTX Voice software (with almost any older NVIDIA card).
Happy streaming, hope all that helps!
That high pitch is also known as 15Khz whine. If you can find a way to EQ your microphone output, either through a 3rd party program or via an OBS filter, you can take out all sound matching a 15Hz audio range and that should do the trick.
IIRC three weeks is the cutoff peroid as seen on SRC site rules where it's reasonable to start asking questions. You don't ever have to feel bad about RL getting in the way so don't worry about that, it's understandable let us know if there's anything we can do to help if things continue to go unexpectedly.
I'd be happy to help out in some way as well if the community is in need of some extra helping hands but although I've got alot of experience moderating for many other communities I also only just started doing MP runs myself so I imagine there's alot of unseen elements that people don't tend to realise goes into MP verification specifically such as RNG manipulation validity. Even so, swing me a DM if you feel like the extra hands are needed.
Also since it was asked before; yes there is a community discord, links if avalible can typically be found at the top under the following button since the new SRC layout change https://discord.com/invite/XR8MFGZ
My Any% runs are live now on YT, managed a 14:30 then later, a new 14:00 WR! c: I'll leave the links below. Assuming accuracy looks good to you I'll leave these unsubmitted until the platform becomes selectable on the submission form.
While we're still on the topic too, could we also get WiiUVC, GBP and GBI added as platforms too? I noticed there already seems to be some runs utilising those methods of play and I think highlighting that they're options instead of just labeling them as "GBA" would be good for any other potential new runners to know.
