I redeemed N7DJE-L7ERH-30NF4
Thank you for this :)
Bad news, my Elgato device appears to have up and died. So that would make console runs impossible for me. I'll confirm for sure before the end of the submission period, but it looks like I will have to remove Infamous, Infamous First Light, and Escape Plan from consideration.
So I've got a guy bugging me on YouTube that I was supposed to start the timer at New Game select rather than first input (the latter being the rule for Infamous 1, 2, First Light, and FOB).
The rules here actually don't say anything for any%, and some of the runs we have on that leaderboard -- and not that this necessarily means anything, but they're runs from people who aren't really part of our community -- do start their timers at New Game select. Sk8's 100% runs started the timer at first input and the rules for the two 100% categories do specifically say first input as a result.
It's 1 minute and 50 seconds from New Game select before you gain control of Delsin in the first spraypaint event. So we either need to add that amount of time to my run (which I would not favour, not because I give a shit about my current time but because I don't like that timing method in the first place and because it's inconsistent with the other games) or take that amount of time away from from Gamecuber23's and ngsonicrocks's runs at least. Macasadia1, AzNF_GH, and fractale do not have onscreen timers, so it isn't clear where they started theirs (let alone the missing video).
Hopefully this will be simple to clear up.
In the future, it may be best to direct questions about specific games to the forum for that game ( http://www.speedrun.com/Star_Wars/forum in this case). It's not particularly likely anyone in this section will be knowledgeable of your game. Or do what you did, and seek out an established runner of the game elsewhere.
Welcome to speedrunning!
It may seem I'm recommending this game a lot to several disparate prompts, but Escape Plan! Very little RNG, no frame-perfect tricks or anything (at least right now!). All you have to do is learn the correct route through the rooms and do it fast!
It's an option you can toggle on the streams page. "Has PB in streamed game" can be on or off
There's an event that's dedicated to runs typically not seen at marathons. It's called Meme-a-thon I think? Or something like that. Might fit in well there.
Doesn't effect my estimate, but I just PB'd in Infamous with 3:26:30. It's one of those "I'm tellin' everybody!" kind of things :D
Why would you submit a game you don't want to be chosen?
You should ask questions like this on the game's forum - http://www.speedrun.com/oot/forum
From the rules for any%:
Emulator-specific rules: -You must use Project64 1.6 or 1.7. All other emulators and versions (such as Mupen64 and Project64 2.0+) are banned. -You must use the default settings for emulation. -Tricks and glitches exclusive to 1.0/1.1 cannot be used on emulator to save time.
Thank you!!
Any chance of a horaro version of the schedule? Automatic time zone conversions = Kreygasm
Watch Macasadia1's VOD. He has developed a very cool route that utilises both Good and Evil karma (he is Evil at the end of the run, but he does the Good karma missions for Fetch and Eugene).
If you aren't interested in min-maxing your powers and just want to stick to one the whole way, I'd say go Evil (Macasadia is just barely on the Evil side of the karma spectrum throughout his run). It's easier and faster to obtain karmic streaks on Evil.
It's an online marathon that raises funds for an in-person marathon (which is in turn a charity fundraiser)
I know you "can't," but I also know people have done it. I've seen tons of speedruns that rely on using the unpatched or a very early patch version of the game, to make use of spectacular glitches that were later patched out. So how does that happen?
Yeah, looks like 14 seconds pass from the beginning of the video to the file select. So just add 14 seconds. EZPZ
