You don't have to use window capture if you don't want to. you can use game capture, you just have select the bottom checkbox in OBS when you add it (it says something like - capture 3rd party overlays such as Steam). Or if you've already added RE2 to OBS, then just right-click and go to Properties. Scroll to the bottom and it should be the last option. Just check that.

You could also try Display Capture instead of Window Capture if you don't want to use Game Capture.

Are we going to be adding PC to the leaderboard? It released on Steam today and I bought it. Just want to know if I'm going to be able to submit it when I run it.

During my first run, I left the credits on but they are like over 10 minutes long. Can we just cut our videos off after the title comes up on the black screen at the end? My second run/video is WAY shorter thanks to cutting the credits off. Just want to make sure that's alright before I upload and submit something.

Can we add a mod to Gorogoa please? The only mod hasn't been on speedrun.com in 6 months, their Youtube channel doesn't exist anymore, and they haven't streamed to Twitch in about 9 months. I don't want them removed, I just want to add someone else so we can get runs verified.

What is the difference between A) Having an FPS counter and B ) showing your settings are set to a fixed FPS? Unless there's some way I don't know about to set the game to an FPS but somehow still manage to hit way higher FPS then they're both the same thing. What is the difference/point of allowing one and not the other?

I still need to know if this recording is able to be submitted or not. And if not, why do we have to bother showing our settings then? If I show my settings and the settings say 60fps at the beginning of the game and then I show them again at the end of the game and it's still set to 60fps, why is the FPS counter needed?

Is FPS counter required? Because I turned it on like someone said in another discussion board (Steam - Settings - In Game - etc) and I could see it the entire time I was playing the game in the upper left. But on the recording via OBS after I was finished, the FPS counter isn't there. So, now I'm worried this run is no longer going to be able to be submitted.

If it is required, how the f*** do you get it to stay in the recording? I've never had to use it before so obviously have no idea why or how it isn't in the recording. I did show all my settings at the beginning and end of the video.

So, I used to run the PC version on my laptop. It ran fine there but then my laptop broke. Now, I'm using my PC. I've made sure my OS is identical and this PC is a beast compared to the laptop. The builds are identical with the same patches and everything. But for some reason on my PC the game crashes constantly now. It never used to do that on the laptop.

I was hoping someone else may have run into this issue before. It did work fine before so I know it's possible to make this game run correctly I just can't figure out why it won't run right now.

They're both correct. I'm not changing it. As long as no one moves before they start the timer I'm leaving it as is. You're arguing over semantics now. It's the same both ways.

My run starts as soon as I land. Basically you start time before you move. You started and then moved immediately. I explained to everyone what I was going to do so I hung around for a second but we both started correctly.

  1. Don't start time until you land
  2. make sure you start before you move/as you move.

Both of our runs adhere to that. I can explain it better in the rules but both ways of doing it met the rules.

Ok I've made a decision on this. Since it does appear you have to look at the sun (or planet or whatever it is) to get the game to proceed, I'm going to change the rule to stop time when the red tint starts on the sun. This appears to be the indication that you've entered the end of the game. You stopped your time but then had to look at the sun to get it to move forward. I just did a test of my own where I didn't look at the sun (or planet) and it didn't proceed until I looked at. That red tint appears to be the sign/signal that you've correctly proceeded to the end of the game.

So, my run gets retimed to 26:58 and yours gets retimed to 20:57. Sound good?

I'll check it when I get home to see what happens if you just don't move once you get on the platform. I want to verify that myself. I was sure I already did that before I set the rules because I ran this game many, many times but since you insist, I will check it again when I get home today.

I have no idea what you're talking about. Once you ride that last platform (to my knowledge) the game automatically ends regardless whether or not you move. Either way, I'm at work and don't have time to argue with you right now.

Don't resubmit it until I watch it. I'll let you know what I decide. If it needs retimed, I'll retime it. If we need a new category, I'll add it (or not if we don't need it).

No movements in the run affect the time after you hop on that last platform.I've explained it several times now. You can still move after you land on the platform but the platform moves at a predetermined speed so you have no affect on the time from that point forward.

Also I haven't watched your run yet but if you're doing skips/glitches then I'll probably be creating a separate category for you and I'll rename the main category to glitchless where we don't do skips. I noticed your note says you skipped a good bit of content. I'll have to make a determination on that. It doesn't seem fair to keep glitchless runs and glitched runs in the same category since runners obviously won't be able to compete if they don't do the skips/glitches too.

I'll watch it later today and let you know the determination.

The platform does move after that but there is no way to speed up or slow down the platform. Everyone's time from the moment they land on that last platform to the end of the game should be identical which means it's pointless to count any of it.

My end time is on the very last platform you jump on. As soon as you land on the platform the run ends. There is no way to change the run from that point forward I'm not sure why you think there is.

Hi, can we get a new moderator added to Copoka please? As far as I can tell the mod hasn't logged into speedrun for almost 3 months. I submitted times for Copoka between 19 and 21 days ago, I've posted a message on the forum, I've tried to contact them via Youtube comments and have not been able to reach them. They only list Youtube and Twitch on their profile but haven't streamed to Twitch in 5 months and haven't uploaded to Youtube in a year. If you know alternate contact info for GOLLUM_GOLLLUM I'd be happy to try to continue to contact them but it seems like they don't have plans on coming back anytime soon.
