An actual runner can correct me if I'm wrong, but for 1) and 2)

  1. OOB was discovered after the 100% run was done
  2. Yes, you must defeat the boss the normal way for the bonus levels to be unlocked

Try turning on V-sync if you have it off. I did a quick test with V-sync off and couldn't do the skip, even though I can do it normally

Hi everyone,

Just something interesting you may not know. Another game by the dev (Macbat 64) just got a port to Nintendo Switch, and within the game is Kiwi 64 as an easter egg. I haven't really played the original Kiwi 64, but one difference I did realize is that there are now 60 clefs instead of 59. Though it doesn't look like you can play Kiwi 65.

Yeah, I know I'm not a mod/runner here but I definitely think it should be its own category if people choose to run it. Especially since 100% would be different because of the extra level. I'd be really interested to see some runs on the Switch version.

Hi!

So I tried the Switch version that just came out, and well, maybe you guys already know this, but there are some pretty significant differences: the biggest difference is that Macbat moves a lot faster. And also...

[spoiler] -There's another bonus level after the Christmas level -You can play Kiwi 64 (the game) as an easter egg [/spoiler]

Another thing that I thought was exclusive to the Switch version, but it seems to be on PC as well: there are a few out-of-bounds easter eggs (literal eggs) that warp you to secret "levels" (they're a new environment but there are no objectives or anything). You can access them once you get the infinite wings. Not helpful for speedrunning and probably you guys already know this but I found it interesting.

Yeah I would agree that splitting them up like this would be nice. I think it makes more sense than Glitches/Glitchless. Though I'm not a mod of course :) .

You have to get first place in 0.9.3 GPs. The rules are different due to the fact that skips can't be exploited, so they are allowed. I didn't check, but perhaps that wasn't made clear anywhere. So the run wouldn't be accepted, sorry.

GP rules are weird. :)

I didn't realize model changes were so different from texture changes. I think what you said is reasonable then.

I'd say yes since it's not really any different from using a texture mod, even though it's an add-on. But we should wait for another mod's opinion probably. Good question though.

(Note that it would be more complicated if you want to use it in GP or Story Mode since it could mess with what the AI use)

Maybe just replace Pidgin's model with Crystal's so it's not technically an add-on.

Not sure if this is what Fabian meant, but just to be clear, it should be noted that this add-on is not a remake of the Racetrack already in the mod, but rather a remake of an older track with the same name.

I still think both Subsea and Mid Circuit would be good additions. Subsea still needs more polishing though. I'm not sure if I tested the latest version if Mod Circuit. :)

I tried zipping in the Ascent but unfortunately 5-1 seems to be a unique case with a glitchy right boundary. But maybe something could be found

So...it appears that 5-1 has got some weird skips.

However, I don't save much time over the current WR split so I don't know they might actually not be that useful. Or perhaps some of them are slower. But still some time save overall.

(And these skips are very consistent btw.)

Hi guys,

Is there any place I can learn about the glitches mentioned in the rules? I see one of them in "guides" but I don't see anything on the others.

Also, have they not been used yet because they're too difficult to be viable or just because they make the speedrun less interesting? Or is it just platform compatibility? In that case, would using non-PC platforms be faster theoretically?

(I know the one in the guide is at least platform-specific.)
