Hey,
So I made an autosplitter for Frog Frenzy 2, but then realized after making it that according to the rules, timing starts when Level 1 is selected, as opposed to when gameplay starts.
Would it be okay if the runs were retimed to when gameplay starts? I personally think it makes more sense for all of the initial menuing to be out of the way before the timer starts. I was also doing run attempts with this timing.
If not then I can try to modify the autosplitter but it might be tricky.
Also I PB'd by like 40 seconds but wasn't recording 😄
Hi everyone,
Just something interesting you may not know. Another game by the dev (Macbat 64) just got a port to Nintendo Switch, and within the game is Kiwi 64 as an easter egg. I haven't really played the original Kiwi 64, but one difference I did realize is that there are now 60 clefs instead of 59. Though it doesn't look like you can play Kiwi 65.
Hi!
So I tried the Switch version that just came out, and well, maybe you guys already know this, but there are some pretty significant differences: the biggest difference is that Macbat moves a lot faster. And also...
-There's another bonus level after the Christmas level -You can play Kiwi 64 (the game) as an easter egg
Another thing that I thought was exclusive to the Switch version, but it seems to be on PC as well: there are a few out-of-bounds easter eggs (literal eggs) that warp you to secret "levels" (they're a new environment but there are no objectives or anything). You can access them once you get the infinite wings. Not helpful for speedrunning and probably you guys already know this but I found it interesting.
Hi guys,
Is there any place I can learn about the glitches mentioned in the rules? I see one of them in "guides" but I don't see anything on the others.
Also, have they not been used yet because they're too difficult to be viable or just because they make the speedrun less interesting? Or is it just platform compatibility? In that case, would using non-PC platforms be faster theoretically?
(I know the one in the guide is at least platform-specific.)
Thanks!
As some are already aware, several add-ons were recently updated to remove expliots. This includes Blackhill Mansion, Bovine Barnyard, Subsea, and Shiny Suburbs, which are all included in the leaderboards.
This of course means that the current runs for those courses are technically invalid. What I suggest we can do is create a separate category for the older versions of the tracks (which are still available on the add-ons website) if it's possible. We could also just delete the times, but this would not be ideal (and if we do delete them they should be preserved somehow). And keep in mind that this affects not just 1.0, but 0.9.3 as well.
What are people's thoughts on this (especially super-mods since they have the power to change the categories)?
Thanks! :)
