So... I have to ask. Why don't you have categories for all the quests? Also, I know it seems silly but, what about the pet races? Shouldn't you also have categories for that? I mean it is part of the game and it's a race. That in itself is a speedrun. Anyways can't wait to hear back from you! :)
What exactly do you mean by all quests and the reason why I haven't added pet races is because is because no one has asked for it or have shown any interest in it. Even casually I know pet derby isn't popular in the slightest but I could add it if you were to do a run or if you know if anyone else wants to.
The only thing about pet races is that people would have to very specifically breed and raise a pet solely for that to even compete effectively. Not saying it couldn't be a thing but the setup required for it would really limit how many people could/would run it, simply because for a perfect run, you'd need a pet with just a bunch of speed talents.
Sorry for the let response. :P You have a category for Wizard City but not any other world. Seems like that should be a thing. I'm sure there is a reason but I don't get it.
You even have a category for golem tower which is a single quest. Though not any other quests in Wizard City or any other world. I'm sure this would be silly since there are thousands of different quests to do in Wizard101, but why only this one?
Golem tower is more like a "dungeon" and its the first one you can do, Other worlds haven't been added most likely because A. they would take to long and B. no one would run them
It's not because of the length for why other worlds haven't been added. It's because the current rules would likely have to be altered, possibly to include help from someone else or some other means of compensating for the fact that you'd otherwise be running several dungeons solo while being very underleveled. Wizard City has no dungeons the player needs to go through in any of the current categories, so soloing it is manageable.
Makes sense. So if someone were to do a run of the other dungeons you'd make a category for it?
My final question, what about the main storyline? You don't have a category for beating the game. Like, when Malistaire is killed or something. The point of speedrunning is to beat the entire game as fast as possible most of the time.
People have asked for dungeon specific categories before and while I'm open to making categories for those, the rules again would need to be addressed. Such as: what is the max level allowed? What gear is allowed? (since crowns gear needs to be banned) Can you get help? etc. As for the whole game, again, rules would need to be talked about on if you could get help or not under certain circumstances and what those circumstances would be. While a Malestaire% COULD be made with the rules not being changed, the idea of soloing everything: dungeons, bosses, etc all in one sitting does not seem practical. Keep in mind, you will be a very underleveled storm character, missing many of your quest cards, crowns gear is not allowed and you must solo everything, as things are now.
Makes sense. I can't imagine anyone doing this. Even if someone did, it certainly wouldn't be by any means polished. Even the current WR for golem court is filled with a few fizzles. :P
That wouldn't work. Too long of a speedrun that practically no one would do it
What about 2-4 Player Categories? Like 2 Player Wizard City% or something.
I4 this was asked a while ago. the problem with this is that you would have to keep track of everyone and making sure they aren't using anything that is against the rules I;e athames, rings. theoretically, if someone were to do it and keep track of all 2-4 players than it could work. but for now, I don't see it working any time soon.
We could make it so that there would have to be video proof from both/all Players participating, Kinda like how the Borderland 2 Speedrun is ran. "Host Perspective and/or splits are required. For competitive times, all players' perspectives are required." That would make it difficult for people to cheat that way. That could also open up for potential longer and more difficult runs.
Sorry for late response...
Hello all!
We have made a number of changes to both of the boards.
- Legacy runs for General Akilles% and Alicane Swiftarrow% have been moved to the "[Retired Runs Spreadsheet](
