Seems like someone will do it eventually. Using only the starter to beat through the game. Possible? Pikachu might have a pretty large disadvantage though.. maybe separate catagories for Eevee/Pikachu for this one?
That will probably not be a category, no. Willingly handicapping yourself is not a sufficient reason to have a category. I'd recommend running a category before even asking for leaderboards for it.
Don't misunderstand, I wasn't requesting it, merely suggesting it to see if anyone else had an interest or even ideas for possible routes. I fully plan on running it.
The only thing you'd really wanna worry about is move swapping. But it'd basically play like the normal game, just might have to grind more or use more items
I might route that in a few days, how many submission you think it would take to be a category?
As I said before, this category is not going to be added to the leaderboards. There is no ground for a category just because you restrict your play style, and I'm afraid this is going to be the case even if many people show interest in this.
But note that nothing prevents you from doing such runs and to maintain a leaderboard yourself on these forums. We are also currently discussion having unofficial leaderboards like this one on the Pokémon Speedrunning Discord, feel free to join that Discord and voice your opinion on that.
Hey @WhipJr, I was wanting to run this and want to talk to you on discord.Add me WarlockMerlin#2227
