Ive got an idea for a new catagory, its an all cap switch run. My thoughts are to ban LBLJ, and collect 8 stars in the lobby, then go to basement and go to the metal cap stage (which i think i found a new blj to get there faster) get the reds star there, and unlock the metal cap (you can use text skips for all of the caps) then go to vanish cap and get the reds star, and unlock the cap, by then you should have 10 stars so go to the wing cap stage and grab the reds star, then unlock the cap. timing begins on file select, and ends when you touch the wing cap star. no intro skips or game sharks allowed, you can use any tricks to get any of the stars. text skips for all 3 caps are allowed, any form of skipping the 8 star door is banned

This has been suggested many times, and I honestly don’t see why it has not been added. 🙂

So first of all thanks for actually using the correct forum for this instead of the main category one.

Now let me add that getting through that wall of text is not too easy. I will try to get some structure into this:

• LBLJ is banned
• all cap stage stars are required
• all cap switches must be pressed
• timing starts at fileselect and ends on touching the last capstage star
• suggested route: BoB 1, WF 6, CCM 8, BitDW no reds, metalcap reds+switch 9, vanishcap reds+switch 10, Wingcap reds 11, reenter wingcap stage to unlock wingcap (the time is already stopped, tho)

The last part of the route is a joke ... I know you meant spawning the wingcap reds star, then pressing the switch and then collect the star.

I personally do not like the idea of this category, but would I actually be interested I would suggest the following changes:

• allow LBLJ as it is not neccessary to add a star requirement. Wingcapstage already has one.
• remove the requirement of cap stars, stop time on last switch press
• start timing from reset to keep consistency with most categories that do not allow introskip (or allow introskip)

@WookisDaOne few people will work through those walls of text everyone builds up when suggesting a new category, few suggestions are structured in a way that makes it easy to comprehend to the reader. Almost no suggestions contain an example run. If not even the person suggesting a new category has enough passion to:

• structure their post in an easily understandable way
• make an example run so people can see what the category could look like
• proofread their posts before posting to spot obvious mistakes are you really wondering why it does not catch people's interest enough?

He does. He literally declared timing ends on collecting the wingcap star.

The route I used was BOB bomb clip Slide 1 and 2, WF cless owless, and wild blue, CCM lil penquin, and wall kicks I will have, an example run shortly

I am interested in all of the changes suggested except removing the cap stars, as I want the stars being apart of the run

And to clarify, the rules would be

Timing starts on reset and ends when Mario touches the wing cap star You must push all 3 cap switch he's, and collect all 3 cap stars All forms of door skips are available, ex lblj, sblj ect.. Video proof is required for all runs You must unlock the cap switch BEFORE grabbing the star in all 3 stages
