Allowing use of the in-game SSJ (super slide jump) Indicator during runs
United States

My understanding is that currently, the rules prohibit use of the built-in SSJ (super slide jump) indicator during runs. I just wanted to briefly give my reasoning for why I believe it should be allowed.

For those unaware, the SSJ indicator is a setting that can be toggled through the in-game console (which can be opened by pressing F8) and typing "prefs set bool ssjIndicator true". To turn it off again, type the same command but replace "true" at the end with "false".

When enabled, successfully performing an SSJ will make a small pop-up appear on the bottom of your screen, giving you specific info on speed gained and how fast you did the input.

Since SSJs require precise timing (you have a 3-frame window to press the jump key after sliding, with the fastest SSJ requiring a frame-perfect input), it is a technique that takes a lot of practice to perform with any consistency. Because of this, I personally find the SSJ indicator to be very helpful for practicing getting the proper timing down consistently, and I imagine that others feel the same way.

So with all that in mind, I hope that the mods will consider changing their stance on the use of this valuable practice tool during runs. Thanks!

I think that would be great, runners will be able to know when they arent making perfect ssj. This would raise the skill cealing for runs and lowering the floor for those who havent been ussing it that much
