That would made the board a mess to setup and pretty sure not a lot of peoples would do individual levels.
You can still do Individual Levels runs on your side without submitting on the board though. You don't need a board for everything.
I don't believe it'd be hard to set up at all, it'd just take some time. I think all that needs to be done is mimic what the standard 64/S/G leaderboards have for level runs. People would probably be completely okay with the IL boards popping into existence a few at a time to make it easier on the mods.
Imo, we don't really need single stars that badly, but having all 7 stars in the level would be nice, adding up to 15 sm64 levels instead of 120, 42 which is still a lot, so idk what we would do with that, instead of 120 smg levels, and 8 ils instead of 120 levels for super mario sunshine. 65 levels is a lot, don't get me wrong, but a ton of it is super mario galaxy, so we could just edit that or something
I do both understand and agree with the post from the game's mod; implementing extra unpopular categories, especially since the mods are volunteers. And it may backfire in the future for a variety of reasons, especially for leaderboard chasing.
But I know I'd do my best to support IL leaderboards if they are ever added in the future; I need to work on extending my potential speedrunning practice to runs that are over an hour long, and I could always use the practice. That, and emulators are not allowed in the base games' IL categories.
After thinking about it, Odme_'s post does make a lot of sense. Hardly anyone does IL runs so I can definitely see why there wouldn't be much reason to put in the amount of time it would take to add them. I should work on my longer speedruns of these games and possibly just go back to the originals for the ILs.
The main issue with doing ILs is mainly what odme already said, as well as the fact that this is mostly just a collection of 3 upscaled games on a different console. Because of that, even if we only did world/dome rta, it would be redundant to load a lvl leaderboard with at least 28 different categories for 3 different games that already have their own lvl leaderboards on their original versions.
