Hyperdimension Neptunia Speedrun (PS3) Notes
So you want to learn how to run this shitty, boring game, huh? Well…you’re in luck because I like to run this shitty boring game.
In all seriousness, quite a few people asked me about notes for the NG+ route of HDN and since I do everything off of memory anyways, I guess I’ll just dump everything here so people have an idea of how to run this game.
A few pointers:
Skip option is terrible but it is faster than mashing
Because of how the game was put on the disc I believe and how the PS3 is kinda ass, the game has to load every piece of dialogue in the game which is why sometimes during skip, it’ll be stuck on a sentence or two for a few seconds. There’s nothing that can really be done about this. The game is prone to crashing
Just like Atelier Rorona, the game CAN randomly black screen and that’s the run. It hasn’t happened to me during a run but I’m just putting this out there just incase it does happen to you.
Neptune Break Bug
There’s a bug in the game where Neptune Break can just like…not happen and she’ll do something else that’s completely ass. It has more chanes of happening if you use Lunatic strats and/or the game has been on for more than 2 hrs. There’s nothing you can really do about it but just hold that and just keep pushing through.
Play on Hard
If you run the game on hard, you’ll take more damage but so will your opponent. It’s a weird way that IF/CP decided to do the difficulty but alas, this is faster. Higher the level = safer it is.
Higher level = Faster, Higher Level = Boring
Self explanatory. The higher your level, the more damage output you’ll do but at the same time, game will become more easier in some cases, boring.
Get the Kiryu Sword and Gami Ring along with Compa’s and IF’s best weapons
Kiryu Sword is Nep’s best weapon and Gami Ring is best ring in the game. You can get both of these from the FREE DLC dungeons on PSN. Compa’s and IF’s best weapons appear after they reach the 90′s. If you go the True Ending route, the CPU’s best weapons appear after Nep is about 98 - 100.
Buy the stat boost
They cost money but they help tremendously early game (especially for NG route) Pay Attention
Self explanatory but skip doesn’t carry over into new scenes so you’ll lose time if you’re not paying attention.
Get Eject Buttons
These things work wonders and let you run from battles. Saves time. Waklthrough
With that said, I’m just going to go through each of my splits and explain stuff although some things should be common sense so I’ll just leave those out.
Neptune rekt (Intro)
Basically the intro of the game. It’s about 3:52 long. Go get your water or go potty during this time. Don’t forget to push square to skip after book scene as skip doesn’t carry over into new scenes.
First Dungeon
A bunch of cutscenes and you get Compa. Once you enter dungeon, walk forward to get a cutsene with with IF, then you get her. Once this happens, go into menu and equip gear (was de-equiped by game). Walk towards end of dungeon and kill boss.
- Arfoire 1
Same dungeon as before. Kill boss again then rekt Arfoire.
- Cocktrice Mission
After a few cutscenes, you go to Lastation. Few more cutscenes and then you go to dungeon. This is the only RNG mission in the game. Bassically you have to kill 5 cocks to complete this mission. Monster Bell works well although most times, you won’t get 5 and will only get 2 - 3. Random Battles are slower here.
- Black Heart 1, 2, & 3
Cutscenes and dungeons with a few fights with black heart along the way. Should be easy to kill.
Will constantly be updating.
