For 3DS, Changing from RTA to Game Time

In the SatPC community, the resolution for this problem was "list IGT alongside RTA, but RTA decides the rankings." My opinion¤ is that RTA is a better timing method and we should stick to that, but listing IGT as well is a good idea.

¤ I have a New 3DS and Switch so I'm not adversely affected by load times, and this isn't a primary speedgame for me. Please treat my opinion with an appropriately sized grain of salt.

I agree with using IGT. More fair and also a bit easier to keep track of to boot.

However, I'm also a fan of splitting consoles up and keeping RTA, similar to games such as Megaman Legends and KH2. I don't have too strong of a stance on it either way lol.

Is this true regardless of how you use the New 3DS? When you soft mod, there is a setting concerning boosting the processor, which invalidates speedruns. I'm not sure if that is what is happening here. But this does make sense. The Gunvolt run is super good, and would be WR anyways, but I thought the time seemed a bit too low.

I know it is possible to create split programs that stop during load times. Maybe that could be a choice? That is what the Mirrors Edge community does. Just a thought. I have a New 3ds but was only using an older 3ds for GDQ prep. I am interested now to see if I run against my splits on my New 3ds if it is noticeable. Anyways, definitely interesting. I think the Switch release will probably just need to become the standard?
