Can the golf speedrun be played online or only in story mode?

Are there any differences? Never played online. It can be that online characters animations are longer.

Isn't It even worthless to Speedrun it online because you can't skip animations and so on? And it's GTA V Speedrun not gta online Speedrun here, so yea just story mode
