I think even without the dodo, any% can be sub 1:20.

He uses the dodo for flying to A-B, he doesn't use many dodo strats. So dodo bait is missing, start of dodo E2G, doesn't fly to the dam and doesn't use the dodo for the final mission. This was in 2013 and still got sub 1:20.

If you do not want to use strats, accept the time loss. There will be no categories for people who do not want to use the hard strats.

You literally can't beat the game without getting in the Dodo during Grand Theft Aero. So if you really want to make a dodoless category, you should find a way to instapass that mission.

Oh and you should learn how to fly the dodo because pretty much everyone agrees that it is the most fun part of the whole run/game.

Dodo strats mess runs up, but yea. If I can do "New Exchange", "Dodo bait", ect. on console and pc as well as a few others who run the game you should just learn it.

Ill admit it is more fun than not using the dodo tho.

I did a Dodoless run once almost a year ago, got like a 1:19:xx. Didn't highlight it though.

I think 6 min time lost by not using Dodo justifies a category, but "Beat the Game (no Dodo)" or rather no flight, since you have to get into a Dodo at least once to beat it, is a valid goal. And in that case it's always if enough people run that… Since nobody seems to be interested that, it probably won't happen.

You don't need to play the game to achieve literally any amount of percentage either.

That is why "Any%" should be replaced by "beat the game"

Any% is a synonym for beat the game though, IIRC it started in Metroid runs, beat the game 100% or beat the game regardless of % completion.

No I think I had 3 Vans dupe as I had a 13:30 Portland but I did lose a minute or so in that run, don't remember how, so a Dodoless run could still be sub 1:20 with a 14:30.
