The Grinch (PSX) 100% Speedrun Route Notes by Saiyanz

Please read over the rules on the leaderboards to make sure you are following all requirements of the speedrun. I also advise watching the WR run to better understand what it is you need to do, as it can be hard to explain certain requirements for the route in writing. These notes are specifically for the Console Version of the game the PC route is different and I may make notes for that route in the future if I do I will edit this document and leave a link above and in the guides of our leaderboard website.

#Mount Crumpit

• As per normal
• Head to Whoville

#Whoville

• Crush Red Present before entering Post Office (doing the skip)
• Do Post Office as per normal but make sure to break every present
• After exiting Post Office break the red present up top
• After yeeting the dude from pancaking the floor break the red present & bad breath the blue who, who will drop you a blue present to break afterwards
• Do the rest of Whoville normally skipping only the presents next to the first snowman you crush (near a kid & up high on a platform), the Xmas Tree (Red), the x2 presents near the 3rd snowman, the green present up high near the 4th snowman, the present below the mayor poster near the factory, a blue present near the 7th snowman, the present on a high platform just before you hit the Mayors Office (Blue), the x2 up high on a line near the 8th snowman (need REL), the red present on the ground near the 8th mayot poster & lastly the present to the right before the 9th snowman (Blue)
• Before crushing the 10 snowman right before you jump off the platform bad breath the Who and he will drop a present for you to crush

#Mount Crumpit II

• Make Rocket Egg Launcher
• Go to Who Forest

#Who Forest

• Use Max to break presents around you whilst moving around beehive both houses and use max to collect the blueprint at the second house
• When near the branches you swing up shoot the presents off the far left branches, proceed to the lower area where the who is and bad breath & pancake him to collect the gift he drops then summon Max to collect the remaining through the tunnel
• Destroy every present in your path and do the level same to Any% including the House Jump and death abuse at the end
• After death abusing head back to Mount Crumpit

#Mount Crumpit III

• Make Rocket Spring
• Return to Who Forest

#Who Forest II

• After putting the bee hive in the 5th house (first) pancake the box behind the house (Green)
• Essentially works the same as All Gadgets except breaking Presents (near House 6/8)
• Bad breath the Who near the big monument and crush the presents he drops
• Ending is the same as All Gadgets except you crush all presents inside each house (except for the present near the Lift key (grabbed later)

#Mount Crumpit IV

• Make Slime Shooter
• Go to Who Dump

#Who Dump

• In the first area as your closing the pipes crush all boxs and destroy all robots in the area (Skip shooting the first set of birds and crushing the red present)
• Skip the present near the first first switch underground
• Using Max grab 4 red eggs when you enter the next area
• Destroy all robots, shoot all the birds & collect every present excluding the 3 hidden behind the eletric floor where you death abuse (this is for second area)
• After death abusing shoot the first set of birds you skipped before & crush the red presents near the birds & underground
• In the rat area collect all items & shoot down the platforms from above
• Lure the rats into the pipe (can use Max Bark to lure rats to follow him towards the pipe only do this on remaining rats)
• After rat room collect x5 Nitro Eggs
• Shoot all robots & the metal hatch, lastly before heading to gravemind shoot the birds and collect the pizza
• Destroy all presents, collect all blueprints & lastly collect the heart in Gravemind area
• When returning to the last area shoot all pipes and knock the hillbilly away
• Do CS Skips
• After completing the last tasks pull the box back and left and use the hatch to destroy it and collect the present

#Mount Crumpit V

• Head to Whoville

#Whoville II

• Shoot window next to spawn
• Bad breath nearest child squash presents he drops plus the one he is guarding
• Shoot the ice wall & window to the left and crush all presents near by
• Afterwards shoot the window at the tower of the central building (behind you when facing the ice wall)
• Shoot child to the left (do not collect presents after just yet)
• Shoot the top of the Xmas Tree & use max to destroy all presents around it
• Afterwards crush presents where the child was and the others nearby
• Shoot/Bad Breath all villagers and collect presents on the way to Mayors Office
• To the left of the The City Hall destroy the icewall and collect presents nearby
• Slime Guard to the left & crush the present that drops before entering The City Hall
• Head upstairs and right and slime the guard and collect the present he drops
• When entering the right room collect all blueprint/presents
• Make sure to move the block to the right to pancake and collect The Sculpting Tools
• In the next room across pancake all presents & make sure to bad breath the laser lights to succesfully collect the blueprint aswell as hitting the button in front of the statue the jumping to the other side to modify the statue
• Afterwards Slim the last guard at the top level and pancake the present then proceed down to the bottom level to collect the 3 blueprints (same as any%) then leave The City Hall
• Once outside move to (The Grinchs) left and shoot all Presents/Windows/Whos/Icewall afterwards squash all the presents behind the Icewall
• Afterwards Rocket Spring to the higher platform near icewall and shoot the present on the long roof
• Shoot the window on the same long roof (must run around the side to reveal the window)
• Shoot the child under the platform and destroy all presents nearby
• Slime the guard before entering The Warehouse
• The Warehouse is the same as All Gadgets excluding the requirement to destroy every present & collecting the hammer where the Guard sleeps
• At the top of The Warehouse speak to the sleeping worker at the top (will initiate a cutscene)
• After exiting The Warehouse climb up the platform to (Grinchs) left and shoot the window/squash the present next to it
• Directly behind is a present on the long roof shoot it
• Jump down to your left and you will see a Who shoot him and collect his present and the others nearby
• After squashing the presents near the child shoot the window just above you
• Afterwards drop down and shoot the last 2 Whos and collect the presents plus the one nearby the 2nd, as well shoot the window above to the left of the 2nd Who
• Climb up the Post Office and shoot all nearby presents, collect the Blueprint and leave

#Mount Crumpit VI

• Make OCD & Binoculars
• Return to Who Forest

#Who Forest III

• Collect the keycard and gift from the 2nd house
• Use the keycard and head up
• Bad breath the first guard and collect the gifts nearby
• Run past the child and bad breath the second guard and destroy all gifts nearby
• Shoot the child and collect the gift
• Proceed to destroy the 2 red gifts near the pair of trees
• Shoot the snow off the gutter on the house and collect the blueprint to your right then slime the mayors skis on the side of the house
• Head back to the cable car and on the way collect any gifts nearby
• After exiting the cable car head left and climb up the icewall and enter White Mountain Civic Center
• After entering collect all gifts on the ground floor and pull the lever
• Whilst climbing up the icewall collect any gifts nearby
• After climbing up turn around and run across the bridge
• Once across the bridge shoot the first fan and crush all the giftson the way to the hidden hole
• Summon Max and run into the hole and collect all the gifts inside
• After collecting the 1st Firework Stick jump down and collect the gift & pull the lever to activate the bridge
• After running past the bridge collect the gift in front of you
• Proceed to hug the left wall and shoot the fan to collect the 2nd Firework Stick
• Continue hugging left and bad breath the guard, shoot the fan to collect the 3rd Firework Stick and also the presents around you
• Collect the individual green/blue present behind the main building and proceed to bad breath the guard around the left corner and collect the gifts around you
• Afterwards head to the halfpipe and zoom in and shoot the fan in the distance then summon Max to collect the 4th Firework stick and gifts around him
• Proceed to turn around and shoot the fan & sign on the higher part of the central building, the sign requires being shot from both handles to break off and knock out the guard, collect the gift & 5th Firework Stick
• After shoot the fan above the higher platform and collect the gift on the ground before climbing up to collect the 6th Firework Stick
• After entering the cave collect the gift to your right and shoot the icicles down and proceed to fall down and collect the gifts on the floor use max to quickly gather gifts
• Climb back up and grab onto the right wall and shimmy across
• After making it across collect the blueprint and gift on the platform you land on and proceed across and up to the higher platform (collecting the one gift on your way)
• Once at the top bad breath the animal to collect his gift, then break the snow wall and sneak up on the guard to bad breath him and collect your gifts
• After turn 90 degrees to the right and shoot the gifts off the branches and swing across
• Once across shoot the fan & collect your 7th Firework Stick plus the 3 yellow gifts beside you
• Once complete proceed to fall down and collect all the gifts nearby the bunch of trees then head towards the cave/pathway heading uphill (shoot the blue gift beside before entering)
• Once inside bad breath the sleeping animal and collect his gift, then sneak up on the guard and bad breath him too & collect the gift he drops + the 2 gifts beside him
• Shoot the who off the first platform (requires around 5 shots) and collect the presents on the platform
• Repeat this again with the second platform but also shoot the fan on the platform aswell as the higher platform on the central building & collect the 8th Firework Stick which is on the platform
• Next shoot the fan on the furthest platform aswell as the who standing on it and summon max to run across the log and collect the 9th Firework Stick
• Once max collects the item pancake off the platform behind you onto the who that fell to collect the gift, proceed to the following platform and pancake each who to collect a gift from them
• After head to the left side of the central building to collect the 10th Firework Stick then entering the Central Building
• Once inside shoot both gifts which exist in the back left & right corner then press triangle to replace the candles on the cake (cutscene will trigger)
• After fall down the mountain and exit to Who Forest
• Head inside the nearest house and death abuse with the bees & leave Who Forest

#Mount Crumpit VII

• Head to Who Dump

#Who Dump II

• Collect a nitro egg with max and shoot the droid covering the pipe and enter inside to turn off the electricity
• Exit out of the pipe and enter the left pipe
• Proceed to the back wall and slime the 2 cameras, collect the 2 gifts and climb up the wall to enter Whoville Powerplant
• Once the Grinch jumps down head right and collect the gifts in the first area and make sure to bad breath all guards as you require the gifts they drop (leave the blueprint + 2 gifts at the end of the pathway can collect that towards the end of the room)
• In the 2nd room summon max and utilize him to run off and collect gifts for you, make sure to bad breath the guards and collect their gifts
• In the 3rd room collect the gifts at the top and proceed to fall down to the right & bad breath the nearby guard collect his gifts and shoot the blue present behind him, collect 2 nitro eggs and shoot both the droids nearby and collect their gifts by shooting the first present and pancaking the second proceed to activate each platform with your bad breath and collect gifts along the way, after bad breathing the third platform head left and shoot the remaining gift and bad breath the last guard and collect the yellow gift he drops, proceed back up to the higher platform and jump across the wind turbine platforms to the other side
• In the 4th room collect all gifts in the narrow pathway, jump on the blue gift to the right of the rope and jump on the rope and swing halfway across and fall down, once down shoot/collect all gifts, shoot the switch in the middle and head back up again, swing all the way across the rope and collect the present to the left of the entrance before entering the Generator Building
• Once inside the Generator Building head left and collect all gift along the bottom floor, bad breath the guard collect his gift then head up, everything else from this point is the exact same as All Gadgets excluding the fact you need to collect every gift in your sight/on your way and bad breathing every guard to ensure you have collected every gift in the area
• Once complete re-enter the Generator Building, collect the blueprint then leave through the shorcut exit to the left which will take you back to the start of Who Dump, proceed back to Mount Crumpit

#Mount Crumpit VIII

• Head to Who Lake

#Who Lake

• Collect all the gifts at the start of the level and head up the hill, shoot the child to the left and the gifts beside him
• Run across the bridge collecting the blueprint and gifts then heading up the branches collecting all gifts around you plus all the gifts on the higher platform, proceed down the chimney to fight the Scout Leader (can skip some presents which you can collect after Scout Leader)
• After defeating the Scout Leader head outside and collect the gift on the roof and the others neaby you may have chose to skip, carefully pancake the yellow gift in the sky and collect thissles from the porky pine and head back across the bridge
• Head left and destroy the tent, shoot the shorts & collect the gifts, after head right to the next camp area and collect all gifts/blueprint and destroy the tents
• Jump on the fence zoom in and shoot the 2 shorts on the higher platform behind you
• After proceed to the next camp area and collect all gifts and destroy the nearby tent (if you have spare thissles zoom in & shoot the shorts on the line to your left)
• Zoom in on the bee hive on the higher platform and shoot it (skippable cutscene will trigger) allowing you to warp up to the location of the beehive, destroy both tents, collect the blueprint plus all the gifts nearby then jump onto the rope and swing across to the other side collecting the 1 gift on the rope
• Once across the other side pancake the remaining gifts & tent then fall back down and jump over the fence to collect more thissles
• Once you have enough thissles proceed to the movable rock platform and pancake the tent on the higher platform plus collecting the gifts/blueprint nearby, fall down and shoot the shorts plus child to collect the gift he drops
• Afterwards proceed right and collect the blueprint & gifts nearby then proceed to the final camping area, collect thissles and shoot the remaining shorts & collect all gifts, shoot the child running at you on the bridge and destroy the last tent and remaining gifts (make sure to change to the scout outfit before entering the North Shore)
• Once you arrive at the North Shore head left up the narrow hill and collect the presents on it before jumping down to where the blueprint is, after collecting the blueprint carefully hop scotch over the gifts in the ocean and collect the lone gift on the sand
• Next head slightly right and pancake both of the moose nearby and collect the gifts they drop
• Afterwards jump up the first platform then summon Max, run inside the nearest house (collect a gift on the way) and a cutscene will trigger turning him into a skunk (after collect the blueprint & gift inside then leave)
• Once your outside with Skunk Max run off the cliff on the right and collect the presents below, then run towards the other skunk, once the skunk is affectionate for you (wtf) run towards the other campsite which has a scout leader guarding the entrance (collecting gifts on your way/a cutscene will trigger once done)
• After abandon Max and crush the gift near you then head up to the next platform and proceed to pancake the mole until he drops all the present he originally stole then collect all the gifts afterwards (gifts may fall off the cliff during the mole chase)
• Next head inside the nearest house and collect all the gifts, blueprint & drill which are inside then head back out
• Once outside summon Max and have him run off the cliff and collect any gifts below, after switch back to Grinch crush the nearby gifts and swing across the branches and collect the presents & blueprint on the otherside
• Fall down to your right and collect the present on the left side of the door to Mayors Villa then turn around and run up the hill to where the RV is
• Perform RV Skip and damage the 2 boats on the roof of the RV then jump down to the left and collect the gift on the ground and one behind the RV, then proceed to push the block off the edge (cutscene will trigger)
• Run off the cliff to your right and collect the stranded green/purple present you skipped when running as Skunk Max, afterwards collect the blueprint and destroy the yellow gift where the Scout Leader was guarding, once inside the campsite collect the heart piece, collect all gifts/blueprint & destroy all boats
• After you complete that head out of the campsite and run right towards the water and collect the gifts + destroy the 3 boats, then pancake the remaining Moose & head to the Mayors Villa
• Once inside the Mayors Villa take off your scout outfit and run straight forward, there is a small 'alleyway' to your left once nearby shoot the 2 gifts which should be in your sight, afterwards continue on as per normal shooting down the platform above (requires shooting both legs)
• Next pancake on the see-saw and you will be propelled up to the Villa where you need to collect all gifts on the right side, then proceed up the roof of the building
• Collect the blueprint on the log, then proceed on as you would in All Gadgets
• Once you reach the next blueprint instead of death abusing with Max right away run right and collect the singular red gift then death abuse
• Switch back to your scout outfit before leaving the Mayors Villa
• Next head left and jump onto the branches and collect all the gifts then death abuse
• Run to the beach on the left and swing on the lever and destroy the first boat, afterwards head right and pancake the final moose & collect the gift he drops
• Proceed up the hill and destroy the boat/gift behind the building, collect the blueprint & push the block off the cliff
• Fall down and collect the gift then blueprint, swing on the lever to destroy the final boat

#Mount Crumpit IX

• Make the Marine Mobile
• Return to Who Lake

#Who Lake II

• Enter the Marine Mobile
• In the Marine Mobile segment collect the 10 pearls & gifts along your travel, after completing that head to the surface of the water and collect the gifts above the water the drop back down and collect all the gifts on the floor & push all the sea cows around to collect the parts they drop, there are 2 secret room in both you need to collect all gifts however 1 room requires you to destroy and icicle hanging above the waters surface which will destroy an abandoned boat to collect your parts the other room requires you to jump out of the waters surface and hit a target which will allow you to hit another gift hanging above the waters surface then proceed down to collect the final piece
• TLDR: Collect all pearls/gifts/blueprint above water and below, harass the sea cows to collect 2 Part Numbers then head to the 2 secret areas to collect the remaining gifts/parts which will then trigger a cutscene, make sure to practice this and research it
• Leave to Mount Crumpit

#Mount Crumpit X

• Make the Grinch Copter
• Head to Whoville
• Switch to Grinch Copter as you enter

#Whoville III

• Switch to the Grinch Copter and fly towards the left and collect the 2 yellow gifts hanging on the wire
• Afterwards head right to the main building and collect the 1 blue present on the top floor
• Fly towards the Mayors Building and stop halfway to collect the gifts on the platform/green wire (one green/yellow gift)
• Fly to the left side of the Mayors Building and collect the 2 yellow gifts on the green wire
• Next fly past the right side of the Mayors Building and land on the moving vehicle, switch to the REL and shoot the back part of the car when the doors open and collect the Sleigh Part
• Switch back to the Grinch Copter and head back towards the main building near the post office and collect the 2 yellow gifts hanging on the green wire
• After that head past the wire and collect the 1 yellow gift sitting on the roof of a building
• Slime the guard in front of the Post Office, collect his gift and leave (should be prompted 'All Gifts Squashed')
• Leave to Mount Crumpit

#Mount Crumpit XI

• Head to Who Forest
• Switch to Grinch Copter as you enter

#Who Forest IV

• Trigger the Max Race, as it begins switch back to Grinch and press R1 twice to escape being stuck still, then fly to the higher pathway and head left into the small cave entrance whilst collecting all the gifts around you at the same time, jump out and fly left to collect the 2 gifts near the house. By this point you will lose the race just hit retry (X), once the race restarts perform the glitch again to switch back to Grinch and enter the nearest house to collect the remaining 2 gifts, next head inside the closest house next to the finish line and collect the 2 gifts inside there, then head outside and win the race (if you lose the race again retry a third time and do the glitch again head inside & out of the building you just collected the last gifts from and use the right stick to move max to the finish line)
• Head to the Cable Car collecting any gifts in your sight (may be 1 near the switch skipped from previous visits)
• After the Cable Car cutscene finishes fly up and collect the 2 yellow presents hanging in the sky then land on the platform to your left to collect the one red gift, next continue left and collect all gifts around the area + bad breathing the animal, summon Max and head inside the secret hole to collect 2 gifts inside there
• After switch to REL and shoot the child behind you in the distance then head left through the small gap in the trees to collect the red gift hiding behind the trees, then head back inside and collect the blue gift, next switch to the GC and fly into the heart piece, keep your flight and continue on straight into the who literally Kamikaze his ass and his head will fall into the snow, pancake him and collect the gift he drops, collect the gift you flew past then fly up and continue the 1 yellow gift in the sky nearby
• Next fly towards the house and collect the yellow gift hanging in the sky and any others on the ground below, next head right and jump onto the iceberg and fly above to collect a hidden yellow gift then destroy the iceberg & collect both gifts, head out and fly straight and collect the 2 yellow gifts in the sky based around the perimiter of the fence, fall down on the left side of the house and collect the 2 gifts there (1 is in ice), death abuse using the guard dog and head back into the Cable Car
• Fly towards the very middle house on the tall central 'cliff' aka where you do the house jump in Who Forest 1, head inside and colect the remaining 2 gifts
• After you will be prompted 'All Gifts are Squashed' proceed to death abuse from the bees inside the current house and leave to Mount Crumpit

#Mount Crumpit XII

• Head to Who Lake

#Who Lake III

• Head up the hill and speak to the child you will trigger the bird mini-game (requires to shoot 10 birds flying in the sky)
• Right after fly up to your right and collect the yellow gift in the sky, proceed to where the beehive was and collect the yellow gift there
• Next fly towards the tent on the higher up platform (where the squashed tent is) and collect the yellow gift from there
• Next collect the remaining 3 yellow gifts in front of you, switch to Scout outfit and head to North Shore
• Once at North Shore head right and collect the 2 gifts to your right near the campsite and head to Mayors Villa
• Once at Mayors Villa switch out of your Scout outfit then fly towards the higher platform on the scale and summon Max to collect the rope from underneath the other platform on the scale
• Collect the blue gift in front of you then fly onward to the waterfall where you need to shoot the blue gift in the water then the 2 legs of the platform holding the boulder
• Next fly towards the nearest yellow gift where the branches are and collect that, then proceed up and collect the yellow gift in the sky, afterwards fly into the cave and a cutscene will trigger with a pirate
• Run up to the buffed up scout leader and bad breath him (he will begin to fly away), fall down to your left and bad breath the scout leader and collect the scarf he drops, proceed back up the hill and attempt to chase the original scout leader again, continue flying forward and if you time it right you can catch him right away & collect the 1st scarf (practice this)
• Next climb up the hill hugging the right wall and collect any gifts nearby, then fly up to the roof of the main building (a plain platform where the last scout leader will be), hang by the edge and jump back and fly as soon as he is near you he will fall and drop the 2nd scarf
• Collect all gifts nearby the 3rd scarf you collected then jump off the front of the higher platform and collect all the remaining yellow presents in the sky, then drop down to where the entrance is
• Jump on the swinging lever until the log is in position, then switch to REL shoot the beehive above the Scout Leader and press the button to the right (will trigger a cutscene), then collect the 4th scarf which falls down the left side of the log he was standing on
• Next run to the jetty and bad breath the final Scout Leader several times til he falls off and drops the final scarf
• After that fly to the top of the Waterfall and collect the 3 presents that exist (2 on the water & 1 yellow above)
• Return to the cave and speak to the pirate and return his hook, crush the last 2 presents and you will be prompted with 'All Gifts are Squashed', summon max and death abuse
• Switch back to the Scout Outfit then head to the see-saw jump up and enter the Villa (make sure to sneak inside)
• Sneak up to the Mayor and press triangle to shave his head (cutscene will trigger)
• Leave the Mayors Villa, once in North Shore summon Max and death abuse, then enter South Shore
• Once in South Shore jump over the fence to death abuse again then leave to Mount Crumpit

#Mount Crumpit XIII

• Enter Who Dump

#Who Dump III

• Enter the pipe which takes you to the generator room
• Use the lift to your right (save eggs)
• Once up bad breath the guard and collect all remaining gifts on the left side (1 gift can be shot where the camera guarded door is)
• After shooting the present fly up to the level above and then forward to the blue wire where you will see a guard hiding behind a doorway, slime the camera, squash the yellow & blue gift then bad breath the guard and collect all gifts nearby, proceed to jump off infront of you then head back to Whoville City Dump (switch back to Grinch Copter before pressing triangle)
• Once back fly to the right green tunnel, once past the tunnel head right and press triangle on the pipe/horn on the wall (crush any gifts you may have skipped here earlier, cutscene will also trigger)
• Return back to to the main area through the green pipe and head to the puzzle area (where sleigh skip is done), fly the the highest roof and collect the yellow present at the top, pancake down a level forward and land on the next yellow gift then fly up and collect the other yellow gift hanging on the green wire
• Fly behind you and pull the nearest block back 2 and 2 to the left then pull the level to crush the block and collect your gift
• First Puzzle 3rd row Center, colect gifts on the way to the second
• Second Puzzle 3rd row Right, collect any gifts maybe nearby
• Third Puzzle 2nd row Right, next head to the block infront of you & pull it back once and left three times, then forward twice, crush the yellow gift pull the lever and collect the last gift (once you look at the door where the sleigh part is a cutscene will trigger)
• Summon Max and collect the Sleigh Part & cutscene will trigger, fly above the Mount Crumpit exit and the final yellow gift will need to be collected once done a message should prompt 'All Gifts are Squashed'
• Leave to Mount Crumpit

#Mount Crumpit XIV

• At this point you should be 99% (remaining is Santa) if you are not certain re-enter levels and check the book to see your level progress
• Fly over the main computer and press triangle on the sleigh to start the Santa Segment
• Follow Santa around collecting 10 gifts he drops (do not hold down inputs for too long I recommend just tapping/flicking the dpad/left stick
• Shoot Santa 10 times using the same tips as before, GG (Time ends when the Santa crash cutscene happens/after the 10th shot lands), the cutscene after cannot be skipped but the credits can be
• If the game has been 100% a cutscene will trigger at Mount Crumpit with Grinch on a Harley Motorcycle which allows you to do a race (this requires to be shown in your submissions of runs to help moderators easily verify if you have completed the requirements)
