Hey all. Was doing some runs today and encountered a pretty strange bug. Video of it is It occurs around 0:35.
I seem to jump over Granny, levitate there for a moment, and then fall down behind her without dying.
One thing to note is that this happens on the staircase when she's below me and I'm approaching her at an indirect angle (I'm not looking right at her). My other attempts to recreate the bug in similar situations haven't worked though
The best use for this in my mind (With the current route) is when you finish basement e-box and you usually have to wait for granny/juke her out to escape
However, if we could bug past her, it would save at least a few seconds. Only problem with this potentially is that she's above you, moving down the staircase.
What I'm guessing is happening with this bug is that you glitch into her collision box but not her hurtbox and so you glitch on top of her. (?) And so if she's above you it's unlikely to work, meaning I doubt it's possible here.
Just putting this out there in case someone else has seen this or this improves a layout or something.
Let me know if you get an emulator working, I’d like to work with one too, would make testing stuff like this so much easier :)
I have an idea: You walk into granny, her hitbox pushes you out of the way and into the handrail. This puts you on top of the rail and lets you go over granny. The only remaining question is why she didn't attack you.
Actually this is very possible and makes a lot of sense, I’ve had this bug happen to me a few more times now and I’m almost positive that you’d need to perform it for the perfect run. The next time it happens I’ll definitely experiment with it a bit more
