100% category?

Curious on whether people think an 100% category should be added to the board.

I've thought about it, but it'd be a bit tedious with collecting all the Archives, and keeping track of how much of the game is completed as there is no percentage level to monitor

A category collecting everything but Archives could be better (possibly called Archiveless% ?), and showing each page in the Galactic Compendium, as well as Outfits, to prove that everything has been collected

  • also curious on whether unlocking all abilities should count?

Hmm I like the idea of this, if you want I could create a document with every Database entry etc? We could collaborate on it if you want?

I was thinking about using a collectible guide and making a route out of that, but that works too haha.

The only problem is that I'm pretty sure some items can only be picked up during certain paths of the story. I think a New Game+ file being included in the run would work, but that makes it even longer and means there can't be a 100% category for both Any% and NG+

This is def a cool idea! Would probably put it under a misc. category with that idea for a melee only as well.

I'll probably add it after more people show interest in it and there's actually a run to submit haha

Glad you guys are interested though, what do you think about unlocking abilities being part of the 100%? It may be a bit long with collecting all the materials to get every skill, but a full game/Good Ending run would probably give enough XP to get every ability for the Guardians

To add to a further point about the different paths, most collectibles do overlap but with the Rocket or Groot choice to sell, there is one different collectible tied to each pick. I also don't know if it would be possible to get everything given the funds allotted to you when you free roam Knowhere.

So I think the choice here is either as close to 100% as a player can get (so like an 87% or whatever on the leaderboard) or it could turn into a full playthrough then half of another or something like that.

That's kinda what I thought. As for the collectibles on Knowhere, you can get a few items with the units from selling Groot/Rocket, one being free as long as you sit through the Lipless karaoke scene

There's some items in a vending machine near the edge of the universe, but I don't actually remember their prices

@InLikeTheRose Can't we make a tool for tracking our total progress in this game. Not gonna be easy as tools like that would require a lot of memorization, routing, and just skips to know if you can get to certain collectables faster.

@ArkhamFan69 While I'm not very knowledgeable about coding, there probably is a tool we can make to track progress in 100% runs (besides a note of everything you collect). Randomisers such as Wind Waker and Kingdom Hearts have tracklists for what items are picked up, so I imagine it'd be a similar way

Also would having to talk to the guardians after getting the guardians collectables count towards 100%?

Yes. The conversations after the Guardians collectibles are needed for the items to appear in the Galactic Compendium

Hey guys!

Just writing to mention that the GOTG leaderboards have been updated as of 28/5/22.

Changes:

  • "We Got This", and "We Got This.. Probably" difficulties have been removed, it is now preferred for any runs with these difficulties to be placed under "We Do It Our Way!".
