Basic Chapter One Guide

**Cutscenes**

Video cutscenes can be skipped by clicking and holding the mouse button.

**Route**

Chapter One is very straightforward. No side quests or optional areas need to be visited. No chests, no shops, just memorize how to get from point A to point B quickly.

**Enemy Encounters**

If you want a safe strat, do at least one fight in the Dash Lands to get a Blood Shard for the Infected Steve fight. Snails and the King's Guards don't drop any Shards, so you want to run away from these enemies if you encounter them. Run from all enemy encounters at Dry Out Desert and the Snow Lands.

**Infected Steve**

Do not immediately use your specials at the start of the fight. Save them for the monsters that Infected Steve spawns. Using both characters to attack one of his minions can work, but it's a low chance. You're better off using a special on a monster, then using an attack to finish the monster off in one turn. Monsters will spawn once Infected Steve reaches ~850 & ~425 health. Monsters drop Blood Shards after being killed and should be used if necessary. Having one party member defeated near the end of the fight isn't a run killer. As long as the other survives, you should be fine since you're not going to be fighting any enemies or bosses for the rest of the run.

If you're at low health after the boss, you should use the checkpoint to get your party back to full health, just in case you can't run away from a fight and need to take a hit.

**Codes**

Before I share the codes, it is absolutely important that you be careful during the cutscenes leading up to them. If you hold X for too long, you will exit to the menu without saving, killing the run.

Pay attention to the dialogue before each code menu so you know when to stop holding X.

2. 4153 - "C'mon it'll be fun!"
3. 7392 - "It looks like a possible way out."

**Bugs and Glitches**

- Sometimes the inputs for attacks doesn’t render. This shouldn't affect anything though.
- Saying "No" to exiting the King's Castle will softlock you, killing the run.
- In the Infected Steve fight, it’s possible for one party member to be completely unable to heal themself.
- Saying "No" to entering the Trail will cause a info textbox to play while in the room before, wasting time.
