Notifications from a popular game

I get a lot of notifications for google minesweeper because I have a run of it that gets beaten a fair amount. though this could be partially solved by improving at the game, I'd really prefer to not get notifications about my run being beaten at all in this game. I lose places so much anyway so I'd rather find out next time I look at the leaderboard, and I'll gain some again when I get a new PB.

From what I can tell there are two ways of solving this - one of them is following it and turning off everything, but if I do that it'll dominate the top of my homepage which I'm not too big a fan of. The other is to turn off notifications for this in all games I don't follow.

I guess the latter works fine right now because I already follow all the games I've run that I care about seeing, so that'll probably end up being the solution I use if it really is the only other option, but I'd love to see the ability to turn this of for an individual game basis, or the ability to also toggle it being at the top of the homepage.

I’m really confused by why you think those are your only two options. Why not just go into your settings and turn off the single notification for when your run gets beaten? There’s three toggles - one for when your WR is beaten, one for when your top 3 time is beaten and one for when your run in general is beaten. So, turn off whichever combo of those three you want to; you can do it for every game or just followed games because the notification settings are split that way.

Unless I read this wrong and that is already what you’re considering doing, but you’re looking to turn this off for a single game and not at a global notification level. In which case, yeah, it’s not possible to do that right now.

Yeah, that was already what I was planning on doing, and what I have now done. Thanks

I was mainly concerned about if there was a game I eventually run that I didn't follow, but might be interested in knowing if someone beat my time, but I guess it's not that big a deal. I can just follow it or I can deal without.

@Timmiluvs I don’t think your last statement is correct. Every game you follow has its own individual notification settings. It’s the bottom tab on the game page called “follow settings.”

That might be, I don't following any games so I've never had to look into anything like that. That's great that that is an option then.
