Hello! I am new to the site and recently submitted a game (and a run I did of it) as a new game request. It appears to have been rejected with the comment: "Is there an actual end game? The run seems to end abruptly." The ticket has a "messages" link and when I click it, it does not seem to give me the opportunity to reply. I recognize that as a text-based clicker game, the end state may not be obvious to the casual observer but I think I pretty thoroughly explained what the end state was and how it was achieved in the description I provided: "The Barnacle Goose Experiment is an idle clicker / body horror game centered on the idea of spontaneous generation. Each item has multiple different creation recipes and the end-state is brought about by combining six specific items, each of which is the product of multiple layers of recipes - part of planning the run is going through and finding which recipes afford a faster path to the end-state. The game starts when the player clicks the envelope. At the end of the game, all of the items the player has created decay - I am considering the moment that the last item decays as the end of the run since the decay period takes longer depending on how many items are created during the run and because there is no meaningful interaction after the end of the decay period, just a soundtrack that plays out."
I recognize that the moderation staff are probably all volunteers and that it is a thankless job and I appreciate how quickly someone from the team reviewed my video. I do however think it is unfair to reject the game because the reviewer either didn't read the description or didn't understand the game. Since I can't seem to respond to the ticket directly, is there a way to appeal a rejected game? Thanks!
is there a way to appeal a rejected game?
Not really, you just need to submit another Support Hub request where you try to explain why you think it should be accepted, from your rejection reason. Or I guess you could DM site staff
The ticket has a "messages" link
The pending actions page kinda needs updating, and this useless button removed, or let people actually respond lol
I recognize that the moderation staff are probably all volunteers
Site staff are paid employees by Elo and, generally, only @starsmiley reviews these requests
Interesting thread, I was about to ask about how to answer a rejected game request or update it... in my case, it was rejected because I didn't have two contacts in my info user page, which now I have... so well, to request them again I guess...
