So, I'm moderating an old indie free to play game page (Dream Fallen Vila do Chaves) and my question is if it is ok to post download links for that game? I would think it doesn't have a problem because the game was always distributed as free to play and there's even a file in the Internet Archive that was uploaded by the creator of the game.
On almost the same circunstances, there's also another free to play game I run (Pesadelo: o início) which was also distributed as free to play but for this one I couldn't find a link provided by the creator.
So my question is if it is ok to provide the download links for those games. And if so, can I also upload the same files on other services (like, let's say, gamejolt, media fire, mega upload, and so on) just in case one of the services goes down? Or should I post only the links the creators provided?
if its freeware of course you can link it. though i personally wouldnt upload someone elses game to gamejolt, itchio or similiar because those are not for file sharing but for releasing games.

Great, thanks for the answer. I was afraid maybe there was a rule about it that I didn't saw.

Yeah, I know it... But one of the games I mentioned have a gamejolt page that wasn't posted by the creator with the files, a brief description and the credits so I was thinking maybe they have a rule for game preservation or something like that (like, we can post in there if the creator isn't easily contacted or if there isn't an oficial release anywhere), but I didn't reached them out to be sure about it.
Anyway, thanks for the reply. I appreciate it.
