Obligatory millionth time of mentioning Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Team Red/Blue and Life Is Strange. Other than that in media only the first Pokémon movie, other than media, reallife is a bitch.
Replaying OoT almost got me there. Was like a freight train of emotion. Even if it was just nostalgia

First and only time I cried was when Meryl died in MGS1. I got close when Ada "dies" in Resident Evil 2, but lookin back I don't think it actually got me there lol
Does nobody remember Aeris? I feel so old. Maybe the graphics weren't so great, but FF7 was a masterpiece of storytelling.
Many good games made me cry. Final Fantasy 7 want one of them for some reason. Maybe because of the battle directly after it.
Of course! I've cried after playing multiple games. From fear, happiness, sadness, you name it. Submachine gave me nightmares as a child. Still today I get really scared from some games I play to the point of crying. When I beat Super Mario 64 at a child for the first time, I ran to my parents in tears screaming the moment I saw the credits. Some storylines are just sad, or beautiful. I can't think of any of the top of my head though.
I believe a game can touch us in many ways. A game is meant to be an experience. Just like a movie, but interactive.
Agree with KomradeKontroll here. Finding out that Saria has a crush on Link, then knowing they'll never be, destroys me every time. T_T
Shadow of the Colossus. Hands down the most tragic story I've ever played. Traversing the world and slaughtering beautiful, majestic beasts for the selfish purpose of bringing this important girl back to life by the hands of a powerful deity. As you defeat each colossi, the main protag, Wander, grows more and more sickly. When you finally reach the grounds of the last colossi, your only living companion, your horse Agro, kicks you off of his back in order to save you from a collapsing bridge and falls to the depths of the cliff. It almost makes you not even want to fight Malus, the last colossi. But you do. When you regain your consciousness in the temple, the powerful deity is then unleashed through you as the only thing keeping him captive were the colossi. Luckily a shaman and his crew were able to follow you and successfully seal Dormin away. With Dormin extracted, Wander appears as a demon of sorts with small horns and black hair with a pale face. Wander gets sucked into what can be described as a fountain of youth and is turned into an infant. Dormin made good on his wish, however, as the doomed girl awoke and Agro returned to find infant Wander. A bittersweet, heartwrenching ending.
I know my friend has bawled her eyes out at least once during Dragon Age: Inquisition, can't think of any game that's done it for me. Not being hardcore lol, I'm sure there's a game out there that would do it.
Pokemon Mystery Dungeon EoS's ending for muliple reasons.
- The music is PHENOMENAL and is a great ending symphony to a great game.
- YOUR character finally actually talks, not thinking like the rest of the game.
- Your partner has to go home alone without you ;~;

Diablo II, when Turael said "Though this is our darkest day, this may yet be our brightest hour". The quote hit me super hard because I had just got out of a really dark place. Diablo II was a game I needed haha
Wii Party/Wii Sports/ Wii Sports Resort (Because I hadnt played it in a long time due to a broken WIi and had SUPER nostalgia from when i was a small child). The walking dead (Love you kenny) Undertale (Love you literally everything about the game)
A tear rolled down my eye during that one memory in BoTW where Zelda thinks she’s a failure.
