By showing the reset, it means if you got a PB time in Super Mario Bros 1 for NES you will need to show some reset done, doing it in original hardware or emulation (showing the hard reset, showing the movie-fps). For example, some attempts cannot start in a good way (Stage 1-1) so a reset is almost done (and necessary) for attempts-speedruns. This is done for speedrunners of that leaderboard, especially in Any% category, or Warpless%, etc.
This goes for essentially every game you speedrun. Some games enemy behaviors are locked upon soft resets for instance, so for those games you have to hard reset by turning the power off then on for console. Always read the games rules you're running for. Including a reset in your video is an extremely common practice.
