Can I have some help with understanding like abbreviations and terms for speedrunning. Like a genuine question.
It would be better if you were more specific
This is how I understand a few commons ones, and their definition may change between games RTA: Real time (with loads) - A run's time with loads or other cut-out sections included LRT: Real time without loads - A run's time with all loading screens removed IGT: In-game time - A run's time from the game's built-in timer TAS: Tool assisted speedrun/superplay - Gameplay preformed with the help of tools and mods to see the limit of a speedrun or to view top level gameplay
Ok this is helpful thank you can I ask if you know what IL also means? @YUMmy_Bacon5
RTA: Real time (with loads)
"Real Time Attack" to be precise
TA: "Time Attack" and differs from RTA in that you are allowed to pause the game and timer PB: "personal best" self explanatory PR: "personal record" means the same thing as pb but this is more used in older time trial communities like mario kart for example WR: "world record" self explanatory "Bop" term is used when you beat someones time, though quite uncommon nowadays
FWR: Former world record - when a WR time has been beaten by a faster one
Most games will have their own terms and abbreviations, like if you were doing Zelda speedruns there'd be stuff like FW, BK, SH (Forbidden Woods, Boss Key, Skull Hammer) etc, and their own special tricks like BK skips in Zelda or warps and boosts in GoldenEye.
I think you're best off checking these out individually for whatever game youre interested in.
