Hi! I'm new here.

Hello! I'm wanting to get into speedrunning with a specific game in mind. I am wanting to try to do a speedrun of Kessen 2 for the PS2. I don't think it's very popular, but I was weirdly hooked on it as a kid.

I have never tried speedrunning before, so I was checking out the forums, and it looks like I will need OSCC since it is a PS2 game. Is that correct? Will I need any other equipment for capture/tracking/recording? Any advice in this regard would be appreciated.

Thanks a bunch!

An OSSC is only used if you’re trying to capture the PS2 into an HDMI capture card. A PS2 outputs composite or s-video so you can use any run of the mill standard definition capture card - that handles 480i input - to get the video (with varying degrees of quality of course).

There is a forum section dedicated to streaming and recording, I would go check out the stickied post in that forum as it has a lot of information and post there if you have any follow up questions regarding equipment or anything like that.
