Hello all!
I am developing a small platformer game that I'd want to release later this month (hopefully). I wanted to know if once released I could post it here somewhere so people know about it (I am a solo developer with no marketing team behind me) but not sure if that's against the rules. I have seen the Advertisements thread so that could be one place, and I have seen that you can submit a game if it's not in the site yet, so that could be another way to do it, although I don't think people will notice it if I don't open a thread or something.
So what should I do?
Thanks!
Hope the final developments go well! There's no rule against making new threads in the forums to advertise your games but they're frowned upon a bit outside of the Advertisement thread, I'd just post it there. You are also much more likely to get a leaderboard accepted onto the site once the game has been fully released and there's evidence of you/others doing a speedrun of it and an info page. Most games that are accepted before full release are anticipated to be requested by lots of people or part of big series, and it will likely be rejected before full release.
Thanks a lot for your words!
It's OK, I don't plan to create any threads or submit the game before it gets released. One step at a time^^
I will post it in the Advertisement thread and submit it when the game is fully released then :)
