See my response in your other thread - it doesn’t look like you’re buffering anything. It just looks like you’re throwing an item and then shuffling into the correct position like normal before doing the 1 frame turn.

AntarcticaTimmiluvs6 years ago

You’re not really buffering anything doing that. In both cases you toss the boomerang and then just shuffle or turn backwards to the correct pixel and the you do the 1 frame tap. That’s just normal screen scrolls.

You can buffer a block clip with any item fwiw, and you can item buffer left to right scrolls (but not right to left) as well. In that case using the item or the sword helps the one frame tap to turn around.

I’m not 100% sure I follow, but it sounds like you and the super mod of the game have a discrepancy on understanding the platform you did your runs on. I’d be willing to bet the mod didn’t know what platform you used and what capabilities it had, so they assumed your run was cheated.

I would explain to them that you didn’t cheat, you used built in features of your Chinese console. That being said, if you can’t use those features (like turbo or auto fire) according to the rules, then you simply can’t use them and any use of them will get your runs rejected.

If you don’t explain yourself to the mod though, the confusion will persist and that won’t help anyone.

As long as the quality is good enough that it can be seen with decent clarity what you’re doing (audio is a bonus) then yes, they should be allowed.

You can always double check with the mods of a game, but most will allow it (as they should). Different communities might have different requirements for clarity in the video and audio, so double checking can’t hurt.

Every PB is equally important. Anybody not taking them seriously in verification is a problem. You also don’t have to delete runs, submit them as you PB and once they’re all verified they’ll be in the right order.

Getting runs verified can take up to a couple weeks depending on how busy the mods are. If your runs sit for a very long time, you can always politely message a mod and ask them about it. Just don’t do that frequently or after only a couple days as that’s an easy way to annoy someone.

There is no place for promoting yourself on this site (doing so in the forums is a good way to get your account banned for annoyance). You can get your stream to appear on the Streams page on srcom provided your twitch is linked and you have a PB in the game you’re streaming.

The KH discord has a place where people’s streams get auto posted (provided they are at least semi part of the community) but that’s really the only place.

You’ll need to verify with the mods of the game(s) but those are usually considered emulators. They are also horrible emulators (full of lag and they run slower than their actual counterparts), i would recommend using s PC emulator if it’s an option.

I saw this idea floated on Twitter, but it would be interesting if mods could set an LB to require verification by multiple mods instead of just a single one for runs. If it’s a large, competitive game with a lot of mods, sometimes the mods might want more than one set of eyes on runs to make sure that nothing was missed by just a singular mod. Obviously nothing crazy like “needs 10 mods to verify”, but 2-3 is reasonable. Then it can show “Verified by X, Y and Z” or something along those lines.

I already answered in my very first sentence - “You’ll need to ask the community”. They’re the only ones that can tell you if it’ll be allowed.

You’ll have to ask the community, but some times the modding of the NES Classic to play ROMs is banned because it’s considered console modification.

For what it’s worth, the NES Classic will also run slower than regular consoles or computer emulators, so there is zero reason to ever use it if you’re already using an emulator on your computer.

Without providing the emulator idk how we can help you.

However, literally the first google result for “ePSXe disc changing”. Google is strong, always Google your questions. https://forums.emulator-zone.com/showthread.php?t=18512

Idk, check the rules and ask the game’s mods. My opinion is that every run needs video.

The problem is that you’re comparing apples and oranges and aside from being both fruits they have nothing in common. You can’t accurately compare runners across incredibly different games. Comparing Werster and all his Pokémon accomplishments to Vallu and all his Mario ones just can’t be done, even as only a “reference point” - both have accomplished amazing things over the years, trying to compare who is better though will only be biased and heavily opinionated.

Like I said originally, it’s not that it’s necessarily a bad idea, it’s just one that can’t be done in an unbiased manor. The idea also has a flaw in how it handles historical data long before this site ever existed. For example, Werster isn’t the best in Pokémon Red/Blue right now, but what about all his accomplishments 4-5 years ago with the game long before this site existed? How do you factor in historical data/runs that didn’t get ported to this site when it came about?

You’ll never know who is the “best” speedrunner right now, it’ll always be someone’s opinion. A ranking system like this just can exist or work, even ROMaster’s spreadsheet however long ago he made it still wasn’t perfect and people beat that system by spamming WRs on new games or games with no runs.

That’s such an incredibly arbitrary category that it probably isn’t suited for any kind of LB. Part of an LB is to effectively track runs, and having a category with literally hundreds of possible routes can’t be effectively tracked. While it’s probably an interesting race category, when something is that arbitrary it’s not suited for LBs imo.
