Hey all,
Am I missing something with going fast in the orni? I'm clicking that up arrow, but nothing happens. Is there something else I need to be doing? Playing on MS-DOS in English CD-ROM version with voice acting, if that helps
I suppose you fly the orni to find new sietches or villages. You need to have an NPC with you for them to spot the sietch on the ground. And if I remember well, if you click the up arrow too much, the NPC may fail to spot the sietch.
Also remember that most of the time, you can only find a new location if an NPC in a nearby sietch tells you about it (like: "There's a sietch eastwards").
In any case, you never need to click the up arrow at any point in the game. It's just to go a little bit faster. The left and right arrow are sometimes useful to fly over the correct location.
Good luck. Have fun and keep us updated :)
Yeah it's the actual flight speed I'm having issues with though. In the runs on this board, the orni's seem to fly quite fast (which I attributed to pressing the up arrow as an assumption), but for me it's pretty slow. Maybe it's just a cycles thing... I'll have to take a look
Oh, sorry, I didn't understand your question. Yeah, I think the orni is a bit faster in the floppy version of Dune. Not sure if the cycles have an influence though.
Yeah, cycles were on max. I think it's definitely a floppy vs CD thing. Thanks for taking the time to respond. Appreciate it!
