Relevant tech made possible by the drift, which slows you down when you hop, then gives a massive burst of speed to the side when it lands

Slip drifts/buffer drifts - just start holding drift in the air and it skips the hop animation. Really only relevant because it can be used to cancel horizontal momentum when landing by drifting for a moment in the opposite direction

Rampdrifting - Right before going off a ramp, land from a drift. This is often done by starting the drift directly before the ramp so that while in the air you hit the ramp itself. The extra speed given means you'll go higher and spend more time in the air to get tricks. Very lenient timing. Also can be done with a slip drift

Driftramping - At the end of going off a ramp, drift hop. The game changes how high you hop based on the angle of the ground you're on, which results in a larger boost than you'd expect. Gives a bit more time in the air than rampdrifting. This also allows for getting a single trick on some insanely tiny bumps/vertical changes on the ground, see Isle of Berk Night for example

RDDR - Doing both a rampdrift and a driftramp on the same ramp. During the rampdrift you don't need to hold the drift button, you can immediately release it once you've landed to then be able to get the driftramp. A bit precise but the most height.

The textures of the game's text will be broken by default on dolphin emulator. These can be fixed by setting texture caching to safe (Options -> Graphics Settings -> Enhancements), but don't cause any issues besides unreadable text.

Note that moving the slider reloads all textures so if you need to read unreadable text on the current screen it is possible to do so.

Boxic Skip - Naturally discovered by Boxic, it is possible to skip the circle at the top of the map. For a slower but safer and consistent strat, line up with the background, drift in place, and release. Aim for the rock, if you hit it you've made it into the lower checkpoint box.

For a faster strat, there are multiple methods. My 1:46:91 was meant to only use the method used on the third lap, but it ended up being so scuffed it also shows off the other main method I know of (using the end of trick boost with a precise lineup on lap 1 to just drive straight at it) and a way to recover from a messed up alignment on lap 2. I'm not sure of any major advice on getting consistent other than just going at it and using save states to right before it to practice more efficiently.

Found a skip on Gallaxhar's Space Ship yesterday. This saves around a whopping 2 minutes and is pretty easy to perform. Here's a video showcasing the skip and how to perform it.

I reckon this still has further potential so maybe new methods will arise.

Here's a quick guide on Zoo Skip. A crazy skip found by Nino that lets you finish the track in under 30 seconds.

The skip is pretty strange and I don't fully understand it so some information in the video might end up being wrong.
