**Down Patcher for Steam Version** * To our knowledge it is not possible to downpatch on the Bethesda version. https://github.com/mcdalcin/DoomEternalDownpatcher/releases * by @xiae * 1.0 = Release Patch, 1.1 = “Patch 1", and etc. Should you downpatch? * Unless you are competing with world records, it is not required to downpatch to play Restricted/NMG rule set categories. However, even if you want to casually run Unrestricted rule set categories, downpatching to 1.0 is recommended because it is the only version where slopeboosting is possible. The ideal patch for: * Unrestricted categories is 1.0 * Restricted/NMG categories is 1.1.1 * any The Ancient Gods: Part 1 categories is 1.3.1 * To up patch (to, for example, play the latest DLC) then quickly return to earlier patches: 1 - Navigate to your Steam Library 2 - Right Click “Doom Eternal” 3 - Click “Properties” 4 - Navigate to “Local Files” 5 - Click “Verify Integrity of Game Files” When you want to down patch again, simply copy the down patched files to your installation folder again. * If a new update comes out, you might need to download the patch files again. The downpatcher downloads the minimum amount of files based on the current installed patch. If a new update is released, your down patched files might not work when copied in and you will have to use the downpatcher again. (external link)

Attached you will find a script (both a stand alone .exe as well as an .ahk file) that will allow you to toggle the FPS cap set in "Riva Tuner Statistics Server" between 250 and 60 FPS. For this script to work you must use RTSS 7.0+ and the window must be open (it doesn't have to be in focus, it can be behind an exclusive fullscreen application). The default keybind for toggling is F9, if you use the .ahk file you can edit that to your liking. If you want to use (or edit) the .ahk file you have to download the AutoHotkey software, if you just want to use the script with the default keybind, you can just use the precompiled .exe. Both files must be executed with administrator privileges in order to be able to interact with the RTSS window while it is not in focus. (direct download)

This tool will help you download the neccessary game files to downpatch your Doom Eternal Steam installation to a "pre-may patch" (v1.0x) state. A steam account with a valid "Doom Eternal" license is required. Usage 1) Launch "DownloadDownpatch.bat" 2) If Dotnet is not installed, follow the setup to install it. Afterwards, launch "DownloadDownpatch.bat" again 3) Enter your steam username & password (Note: The batch file only uses this information to execute DepotDownloader commands) 4) Enter your 2FA-Authentication code if prompted 5) The batch file will attempt to download all of the required files into a newly created folder called "DOWNPATCH_FILES" 6) This process is only completed when "Press any key to continue.." appears in the terminal 7) Copy the CONTENT of "DOWNPATCH_FILES" into your Doom Eternal installation folder. (usually found at "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\DoomEternal") You should now be able to start your game normally using either the "Play"-Button or the executable directly.
