Hi guys!
I've just submitted a run, and what I've realised during my runs is that there are inconsistencies in loading times. Obviously it's the game's fault, it's literally a 2D sprite jumping on squares and the background is probably a Google Maps panorama picture, with these "features" the loading times compared to modern standards are surreal to say the least.
I do not ask, or would like to force a change (I'm not a mod anyway), I just wanted to share that basically, as it is today, Tomygun75's time is unbeatable due to these loading times. This is not me, trying to find a way to get a better position on the ladder, my time with/without loads, is 2nd place anyway.
So I conducted an "experiment" or tests, name it as you would like to. It may contain logical fallacies, or bad methodologies, however I tried my best. Even if my document is "bad" or there is an oversight present, let's say I messed up and there's a 0.2s (arbitrary number) needs to be added to every lvl for Tomygun75, he/she still having a 9 seconds advantage in loading time.

I also understand if the mods don't want to act in a certain direction, the game is inactive, and the community is probably consisting of like 5 people, so probably the inconveniences due to maintenance or changes would outweigh the potential advantages.
I'm sorry Tomygun75 for mentioning you personally multiple times :D I'm not here for drama, or to put you in an uncomfortable situation, you were better, gg. I just felt like speedrunning is competitive and good sportsmanship would require me to present these to the moderators (and you).
Merry Christmas guys!
Hey man, thanks for the detailed and in depth post, and for bringing this to our attention! Inconsistent loading times are unfair and ruin the point of running for a top time - an unbeatable world record is just stupid.
The general consensus between the mods is that we'd be happy to time the loads, considering how infrequently ran this game is, along with the short length.
Don't worry about calling me out, if I were in your position, I'd be frustrated too. I'm glad we have another runner because I enjoy competition :) Good luck if you want to continue running this game. If you want to talk with us, there is a discord you can join.
Hey there! No clue if you remember me, but I was the Doge Adventure 2 WR holder you were trying to compete with. I remember your detailed forum post and all the work you did into timing loads to try make a balanced speedgame that anyone could achieve world record in, including yourself. It was a really heartwarming post to see you put a ton of effort and passion into a silly little game like we did. At the time, I had no idea how to manage speedrun dot com pages and had never done so before, so I simply informed the mods on Discord of what you had posted, asked them to please change the site to accommodate for it, and then I promptly forgot about the games existence as I moved on with my life, assuming it would be done. I ran back into the game today when a friend found it by accident, and when I looked at the speedrun page, I was sad to see that it wasn't done by them after I left, I assume they also moved on shortly after I did.
I really felt bad for you, considering you put that time and effort in and it wasn't done, so you couldn't even compete if you wanted to, even after you made such a well-meaning forum post. I have no idea if it not being done has to do with you not trying to speedrun it anymore, and if you being last online 1 year ago has to do with you checking to see if it was done but being upset that it wasn't, but regardless I wanted to make it right, so I spent a little while today figuring out how to edit speedrun dot com pages so that I could make it right. Obviously I doubt this'll make you come back to the game considering it was 5 years ago - I was just happy travelling down memory lane and I stumbled onto this problem still not being fixed yet by the other mods. This was the only game you speedran, and you were very earnest in your forum post, so I assume this would have at least meant something to you in the past, even if it doesn't anymore. Regardless, thank you for speedrunning this silly little game, I hope you enjoyed doing so back when you did dip your toes into speedrunning in the past, and of course you probably don't care about this at all anymore, but if you ever feel like playing again then it would be my pleasure to come back after 5 years and compete with you, I had a ton of fun in the past when I did play this trying to beat other people. I would've loved to compete against you 4 years ago, but I'd be just as happy to now as well. :)
