100% Speedrun Guide
Updated 4 years ago by DomToblerone27

Dino Run DX's longest speedrun the 100% run is quite a gruelling challenge for anyone who is brave enough to attempt it, potentially lasting multiple hours. With that in mind it is good to approach the run with a specific plan in mind beforehand in order to achieve everything in the fastest way possible while limiting any time wasted. As such I have decided to share my current plan for the catagory for anyone that is interested in potentially running it. I have only done two complete runs of this catagory myself though (With my best time being around 2 hours and 20 minutes, which I will hopefully submit soon) so this plan likely has room for further optimisation.

Before we begin I need to mention something right away. This catagory includes one particular achievement that stands far above all of the others. The achievement to collect 2000 eggs. Currently in the times I've run this catagory I have completed everything else and found myself over 500 eggs short, making the last half hour of this run being purely focused on collecting these eggs. This isn't fun. I'll talk about how I do this later, however if you do attempt this run it is in your best interests to collect as many eggs as you can at every oppertunity as this is what the run ultimately comes down to.

Now onto the plan! As this run has a lot of different tasks to cover the goal should be to upgrade your dino as quickly as possible. One effective way to do this is by using seeds on speedrun maps and collecting all of the super eggs imediately. This is the first step of the run. My current path involves using the seeds and levels shown below, with all levels being completed on easy difficuly:

Out to Pasture: 922434 --> Alien egg Circus Tryouts: 803971 --> 10 second bolder ride Ptero Storm: 363800 --> Oloro egg and Iguano egg Rainin' Lizards: 556659 --> Giga egg and Rinch egg Rainin' Lizards: 314776 --> T-rex egg Death Crater: 111000 --> Mango egg Medium Challenge: (Don't use seeds) --> Spino egg, Diplo egg and pixlejam mascot.

Some things to note. Firstly the circus tryouts map is included in order to get enough bones to unlock Ptero Storm, which requires 250 bones. This mightn't be required however if you complete another achievement, such as 3 worms slurped which gives the required 50 extra bones (30 DNA too!). Secondly getting the Rinch egg can be rather difficult and it is advised that you upgrade your jumping and acceleration stats in order to get it. If you miss it however, an alternative seed for Rainin' Lizards that includes the Rinch egg right at the beginning is 456789. Also an alternative for the Spino egg is Up and Down with the seed 928246 in case it doesn't show up in the medium challenge.

After these super eggs have been collected your dino should be upgraded enough to take on all of the speedrun levels on Insane! difficulty. This is the second step of the run. Do all of the speedruns using the seed 111000. Start of with the easy levels and work your way up, upgrading your dino further as you go while also trying to get various achievements and collect eggs along the way. When you feel ready you can attempt the Insane! challenge mode. Do this with the seed 111000 for shorter levels and collect the Bronto egg. Then complete the Planet D speedrun to finish those off.

After this comes step 3, getting all of the rest of the achievements. This is generally straight forward, however there are a few things to note. Firstly, for the achievement for saving 50 dinos you need to complete speedrun levels on Insane! difficulty, otherwise the counter won't increase. For the fish achievement you can use the Ptero Storm seed from before. Use Rainin' Lizards for the lizards. Salty Flats for runners with the seed 777777. Other achievements should be pretty straight forward.

Then however comes the slog. Getting the 2000 eggs. There isn't really an easy way of going about this. The method I use however is playing Salty Flats with the seed 777777 repeatedly on easy difficulty. This provides multiple eggs each time and they are consistantly easy to get. An alternative that I haven't tried out is using either Ptero Storm or The Hitchhiker and catching dactyl eggs. As each of these count as 10 eggs each this could potentially be a faster however much harder route. Overall though I have not found any easy or quick way of completing this task yet. This however will likely be the last achievement that will need to be completed!

So that is my guide for completing 100%. If anyone else has any potential improvements then be sure to make a post about it. Especially if it involves a quick way of obtaining eggs.
