Easy answer: press bow and melee together. it is the most efficient way to do this strat and the most consistent. how it works is that melee attacks have a cooldown in the middle of their attack that can be cancelled by a bow attack. the bow attack has 6 frames of a startup animation that can be cancelled by a melee attack. so if you melee, cancel the cool down with a bow attack, then cancel that with another melee attack you can loop this to create a quick melee attack or "multi-melee.
