Netherlandsdiscord also had that problem where if u typed ":D" it would become a weird look smile but this is even worse because literal words get turned to emotes lol. They should just add a setting that disables text emotes or something like discord has.
If the game is already on the site you might as well try to submit and hope the moderator is still active, if that doesn't work you can look up how u can contact them or resolve the problem with site staff if that doesn't work. ( https://www.speedrun.com/rules )
Capture cards are really important when you want to record games from (mostly used for older) consoles (n64, super Nintendo, etc..) because there is no easy way to record those from the console themselves (I'm pretty sure there are other less easy methods), But if you are not planning on using a capture card to record stuff like consoles I don't see a good use for it. but you can still use your capture card to get higher quality streams, but if you are not planning on doing that I would not recommend a capture card.

Just run what you want to run! If u really want to get started tho i would recccoment web games since they dont last as long but nothing is off limits! Have a good time speedrunning!

I would look through the rules and look at what the community is using (screen recording software, timing software etc...) I would also recommend following https://www.speedrun.com/mcbe and asking there, there are a lot of people that can give you advice over there.
