The world's best Resident Evil 3 Classic players will compete through a Group Stage and a Knockout Stage to determine the Basement World Cup 2026 Champion.

📅 Registration

Registration is now open and will remain available until August 26th.

To participate, it is mandatory to join the new official Basement World Cup Discord server.

Important: This year's tournament will use a brand-new Discord server. Every player, including those who participated in previous editions, must join this new server.

Once your registration has been verified, you will receive the Participant role on Discord.

⚔️ Qualifiers

The Qualifiers will take place from August 10th through August 26th.

Players may submit an unlimited number of attempts during the Qualifier period.

Only your best time will count.

At the end of the Qualifiers:

• The Top 32 players will qualify for the Basement World Cup 2026.
• The Top 8 players will become the tournament's Seeded Players.
• Qualified players will receive the Elite A role on Discord.
• Players who do not qualify will keep the Participant role.

🎲 Official Group Draw

The Official Group Draw will take place live on August 29th on the Basement Cup Twitch channel.

During the live draw:

• The 8 Seeded Players will be drawn first, with one player assigned to each group.
• The remaining 24 qualified players will then be randomly drawn to complete all eight groups.

The entire draw will be completely random and broadcast live.

📅 Tournament Schedule

• Registration: Until August 9th
• Qualifiers: August 10th – August 26th
• Official Group Draw: August 29th
• Group Stage: Begins the following week
• Knockout Stage: Begins after the Group Stage concludes

The complete tournament schedule will be available on the official Discord server.

🌍 Tournament Format

The Basement World Cup 2026 will feature 32 players.

Group Stage

The tournament begins with a Group Stage.

• 8 Groups (A–H).
• 4 players per group.
• The Top 8 players from the Qualifiers will become the Seeded Players, with one Seeded Player placed into each group.
• The remaining 24 players will be randomly drawn to complete the groups.

Each player will face every other player in their group once.

Each participant will play 3 matches.

All Group Stage matches are played as Best of 1 (Bo1).

Points System

• Win = 3 points Draw = 1 point Loss = 0 points

At the end of the Group Stage:

• The Top 2 players from each group advance to the Round of 16.
• The remaining two players are eliminated.

All players must complete every Group Stage match, even if they have already secured qualification or have already been eliminated.

This ensures fair competition for every participant.

🏆 Knockout Stage

The Top 16 players advance to a single-elimination bracket.

Match format:

• Round of 16 — Best of 3 (Bo3)
• Quarterfinals — Best of 3 (Bo3)
• Semifinals — Best of 3 (Bo3)
• Third Place Match — Best of 3 (Bo3)
• Grand Final — Best of 5 (Bo5)

💰 Prize Pool

This year we will use Matcherino, allowing the community to support the tournament through donations and campaigns.

Matcherino will remain open throughout the entire tournament, from the start of the Qualifiers until the conclusion of the Grand Final, meaning the prize pool will continue to grow until the event is over.

Prize Distribution

If the final prize pool reaches $1,000 USD or more, it will be distributed among the Top 6 finishers.

The exact prize distribution percentages will be announced before the Grand Final, once the final prize pool has been confirmed.

• All participants will have to complete a qualifying round to qualify for a spot in the tournament.

• Participants must submit their best time during the qualifying period, which runs from December 5th to December 11th, 2025.

• Participants can submit their times without any limit during the qualifying period.

• The top 16 runners in the standings will qualify for the tournament. or the top 8 if there are not enough participants

• Once the qualification process is complete, the tournament matches will be determined according to their ranking in the standings.

• Example: The top-ranked team will face the top 16 teams in the standings.

• Each match will consist of three rounds. In each match, each participant must win two games to advance to the next round.

• The tournament will begin on December 12 and end on December 21.

• The three finalists of the tournament will receive a prize pool, which will accumulate throughout the duration of the tournament.

• Eileen-Cup 2025 Rules

The “Eileen-Cup 2025” logo must be visible in the VOD.

The GOG version is allowed.

The VOD must have the game audio, without external music. Microphone use is permitted.

Inputs and Livesplit must be displayed on screen.

Matches must be streamed on Twitch, YouTube, or Kick. (Offline matches are not allowed).

Turbo-Macros are prohibited in the tournament.

As you may know, there have been changes to the game's moderation, so I'm currently moderating alone and need help.

The two people I trust with this task, who have been active in the game for years and are also helping with the Basement Cup tournament, are MattGael and 3_XVII.

3-XVII will be in charge of reorganizing the game's Discord and checking runs. And MattGael will also be checking runs.

• Original mode - Heavy Mode Any%
• The "Basement Cup 2025" logo should be visibile on the VOD. It can be found in the Discord Server.
• GLTool is allowed.
• It is allowed to use vanilla or rebirth patch (Chinese - Taiwanese - Japanese version only)
• The VOD must have the sound of the game, without external music. Using microphone is allowed.
• Inputs, SRT and Livesplit must be displayed on the screen.
• Jill and Carlos skins are allowed.
• Runs must be streamed on Twitch, Youtube or Kick. (Offline runs are not allowed)
• Turbo-Macro are banned from the Tournament.

This year we are going to celebrate another edition of the basement cup, this time we want it to include more runners.

$1000 price pool distributed among the first 3 players, but if more runners than estimated join the tournament, the price pool might be higher and divided between the top 5 times.

The tournament will be held on September 28th and the qualifiers for the tournament will start in August from 16/8 to 30/8.

If you are interested in participating, you must leave a comment in this thread with your discord name and join the basement cup discord where you will be assigned a competitor role and be eligible to be on the qualifying leaderboard and also have access to the full discord. The leaderboard will be updated with the best times the competitors get during the qualifying weeks.

• Basement Cup 2023 Rules •

• The competitors will classify according to the order of the leaderboard from the date 8/16/23 at 00:00 UTC+0 to 8/30/23 at 22:00 UTC+0. Once the qualifying is over, the 16 best times will qualify for the basement cup on September 28.

• The final order of the qualifying leaderboard will dictate the placements on the tournament (best time, will go against the worst, etc.)

• In order for a run to qualify, it must have the #basementcup on the Stream and VOD

• The runs have to be posted in the discord channel for verification.

• The qualifiers will close on 30/8/23 at 22:00 UTC + 0

• Runs posted before 16/8/23 or after 30/8/23 at 22:00 UTC+0 will not be taken into account.

• GLTool is allowed.
