My opinion is that we should allow people to run with as many or as few dudes unlocked as they would like.
My thoughts are that it would create a lower barrier for entry, since people won't have to 100% the game before attempting runs, and the fastest possible run will still be someone who gets fantastic rng on a 100% file since they will have extra money and rerolls to secure the relics they need, so although unlocking a group of 5 dudes for t2/t3 can assure more completed high speed runs, it doesn't give any actual advantages for a faster run.
I may be biased though as I have been working on runs with only my team of 5 dudes unlocked, but I also understand it removes some of the rng that makes HMD the game it is. So if we decide to require 100% I will not have an issue with it.
The point of speedrunning is to achieve the goal as fast as possible. Many people want to see what the fastest way to achieve this is, which does include power leveling. If you do not wish to compete with that I have added a new game category which does not allow this. If enough people wish to run a category that allows using gear you have but without power leveling. I can add it, but currently there is very little interest in that. If others would like to see this please send me a message with a link to a completed run and I will add it when there is enough interest. As for the 1-61 (seasonal or regular) category I have been considering changing the category and archiving the previous level goals as to not clutter the page. That will also need more interest than has been expressed to me up to this point so if anyone would like to see that category please send me a message with a link to your completed run and it will be added when enough interest is shown.
I have updated the leaderboards and added boss blitz categories. If you have any other ideas please let me know!
I like the idea a lot! Give me a couple days , need to update the page a bit and I’ll work on adding the categories.
My only concern with the run is that with each season there are some changes that make gaining time stones easier or harder; i.e. this season the weekly quests have been reduced to 10% kill count. This means each season would require its own category and I’m worried that we will only have 1 run per season or that it will remain empty. If you have a link to any of your runs please send it to me though, I will still consider adding it, just need some time to think about it.
I like the idea! My first thought would be each dungeon would be its own category. Timing starts when the button is pressed to start the dungeon; ends when final boss dies. If anyone gets a run done please upload it to youtube or some other video site and either message me the link or post it as a comment on this thread so we don’t make a new category that stays empty. I would recommend the recording show everything from before entering the dungeon to all members leaving, just in case timing has to be changed for something I’m not considering.
As many of you may know, the ability to comment on runs has been added to the site. At first this was controversial due to the inability to moderate comments. This has been fixed and moderators now have 4 options. Allow all comments, allow only comments from verified runners (any game), allow only comments from runners of the game, and disable all comments. Currently I have this set to only allow verified runners to comment on the runs, but if you would like a different setting please respond to this thread with what you would prefer. As with everything I will change this based on what the majority of verified runners believe is best.

I think that would be a good idea. I have added Solo New-Game as an option when submitting runs to 1-56. If you would like your run to be added please submit it again with that option selected.
I noticed while attempting to submit a run for archer today that it was missing from the class choices. I know the boards aren't super active so I assume it just hasn't been updated in a while, but figured I should ask to make sure I wasn't doing something wrong.
Hello, I submitted a few runs to the leaderboard for Hugo's House of Horrors at https://www.speedrun.com/hugos_house_of_horrors about a month ago. The current mod has been inactive for a year and hasn't responded to my messages through social media, but I am fairly active and would be willing to moderate.
I recently discovered that it is possible to buy weapons past level 10 on higher hacks and return to v1.0 and retain the higher leveled weapon throughout the run. This could be used to shorten the time on lower versions. Would this be considered "Using hacks" or a legal exploit?
Ah no apologies necessary, I had noticed that there were levels on both runs. I assume the category will be renamed 1-10 NG+ and a new category will be added for 1-10 NG or whatever. I am actually interested in running 1-10 with levels first anyways. Thank you for the quick responses.
Yeah that's where I am confused, it looks like in your No Upgrade run you have levels on your character. Is there some way to deactivate your levels for the run?
I was wondering what is considered an "upgrade" on the 1-10 No Upgrade run?
