Fifi is the best character on the show. If you disagree with me then I will un-boost this game. :P

I put in a frontpage feature request for this but the ticket has been Pending for 3 weeks so in anticipation of that perhaps not getting approved (unless they do it the day of the feature because the approval is what activates said feature, I don't know) I'd like to post about it here.
https://gator.co/extralife <-- All the info is there (link takes you to our official Extra Life charity page which has a not-as-easy-to-share URL), including the history of why I do Extra Life every year, where donations will go, what you will receive if you donate, and the full schedule of events.
This year's marathon is #13 so we're playing into that by theming it predominately with horror/monster-themed games. There are 28 games on the schedule, of which 24 meet this year's theme criteria (the others are traditional runs done every year). Of those 24 themed games, 19 of them are brand new to our Extra Life marathons so I've had to learn that many new runs in the weeks/months leading up to this weekend. The big draw this year, aside from all the horror games, is our Bible Buffet feature; I partnered with Displaced Gamers on YouTube to develop a custom cheat code that will let me play every single space on the game board, the first time anything like this has ever been done by anyone.
I take my charity stuff very seriously, and Extra Life is routinely the channel's biggest draw every single year. I've done them for so long and raised so much money for my chosen hospital that Extra Life themselves recognized me with one of their Lifetime Achievement Awards in 2023, and earlier this year the hospital I raise money for awarded me one of their Miracle Awards which are generally reserved for their large corporate sponsors. For as long as Extra Life has made the metrics public, my event has been the #1 fundraiser for the hospital and we're consistently in the top 100 total fundraisers in the state of Texas (usually top 50 but not always). So, yeah it's not a scam or anything. :P
If you donate $7 I will send you two stickers and an autographed COLA card anywhere in the world to the address you provide (which is not shown publicly). You will get a Gatorbox logo and our channel mascot Nessie in her beachwear (pictures are on the Extra Life page). For every $100 milestone reached I will set aside time to do community-submitted game challenges. Usually these are just massive trolls that, while possible, are for games that are total crap and exist to torment me.
I'm interested in a lot of games. These are games that I run, games that I play, games that I want to run, or any combination of those and more. Sometimes I also just follow a game because I want to engage with its community here in case perhaps I have something of merit to add to a discussion.
- Problem 1: There's a cap of 100 games that you can follow.
- Problem 2: I followed way, WAY more than that prior to that limit being instituted.
- Problem 3: I actually cannot follow any more games (sometimes) nor can I unfollow them without having to go to a very specific part of my profile to manually undo it because the "Follow/Unfollow" button is broken on most of the game pages I visit.
- Problem 4: I still care about all these games though, so I'm fine (I guess) with what's locked in even if I can't change it, but on the Forums main page the list cuts off as it reaches the G's because the number of games I follow exceeds the current limit, so everything after "Gex" alphabetically just doesn't show up for me.
Are there any plans to raise the following cap for supporters? And if so, is there a roadmap for pagination on the main Forums listing so that games that exceed the standard limit can be accessed? I can still technically get to all of these games' forum categories if I manually go their pages one by one, but I like the Forums directory list because it shows at a glance which ones have new posts in them.
*It's a WR if you are looking at the leaderboards upside down because it took me 24 and a half hours to beat the game because at multiple points I paused the game for hours at a time to go play through other Mario games in their entirety. But it's one unbroken take on real hardware with nothing to obscure or cover up the game so you know there's no splicing or trickery.

Mods please ban everyone who moderates this game and give me my little gold star icon, please and thank you.
This has been asked before here and here, and @Kevin700P did show interest in adding the leaderboards for an "all Ninji courses" run, but it doesn't seem like that ever happened? Last post about it was 4 years ago, is that still a thing the mods of this page were planning on doing?
Question in thread title. Discuss.
I know this game has no runs on the leaderboard (I did some in the past but I didn't brief myself on the criteria so they were invalid times, planning on doing some later this year), but I did notice last year the developer made a post on Steam announcing that the game has been "Remastered" and I assume this new version supplanted the one that had been online the whole time.
I've played it and the biggest difference I noticed is that there are subtitles added in all the cutscenes. All the weird quirks and bugs that I can think of still work with the exception that the dev fixed the damage calculation bug with the Torch weapon. The ability to force the game into third-person mode by way of reloading a save during the driving cutscene was also patched. But other than that I can't seem to pinpoint anything else that has changed in this game?
Not sure if it warrants further investigation though as like I said I think everything else is the way it's always been.

Not sure how different the Steam version is from the web-based online version. If you bought the game on the official website email SVGS at [email protected] using the same email you used to purchase the game with and they will send you a Steam key for free. (The devs themselves said they were not expecting Valve to allow the game on Steam so it's nice of them to hand out keys so you don't have to buy it twice.)
Because when people say "McDonald's" they either pronounce the Mc as "Mick-Donalds" or "Mack-Donalds".
It took me far too long to figure this out on my own.
Like to make it a "meme" run? Just validated three runs today which is a lot for a relatively unknown game like this.
All four of the Crimson Room series of games are available on www.fasco-cs.net.
This is not the original website from back in the day, it is a fan recreation made to look identical to it. The author went through the trouble of cracking all of the Flash files to remove their URL checks so they can now be played on this website (instead of trying to reach the servers of the former fasco-csc.com which no longer exists).
As long as you have a browser that is able to play Flash content you should be able to play all four of these games, including the part in Crimson Room that requires you to find the safe combination!
I recently did a run of the "Beginner" difficulty that I will be submitting soon, but I noticed there are no leaderboards for the other difficulties in the game -- just wanted to know if there are plans to add them, as I was thinking about stepping up to Intermediate at some point.
NanoQuest can be downloaded from archive.org here: https://archive.org/details/Nanoquest
In order to get this game to work on your computer you may need to run it in "compatibility mode" for Windows XP SP3. Alternatively, you may run the game inside a Windows XP virtual machine, however if you choose to do this please submit your runs to the "VM" leaderboards.
KNOWN BUGS/PROBLEMS -- Do not press the "V" key while playing the game. It appears to try and call a routine that was unfinished or taken out of the game and it will crash the program. -- Pressing "S" on the first stage will disable the skybox and other textures.
Q. Why two leaderboards? NanoQuest runs substantially slower on a virtual machine than a native OS and as such a run performed with a VM would not be able to compete with a time submitted from a non-VM attempt.
Q. This game doesn't work! I don't know what to tell you. NanoQuest was designed on and for Windows XP and it doesn't seem to like any other OS. Although it "works" on Windows 10 with compatibility mode options enabled, random crashes have been reported to happen in the final stage. We have not been able to consistently replicate these problems.
Q. Why won't my LiveSplit timer start? You will need to run LiveSplit with administrative privileges in order for your global hotkeys to work.
Q. Why RTA times only? The in-game timer is unreliable and affected by the game's framerate. Additionally, the game frequently messes with the timer in most of the levels. In levels 1, 4, and 5 falling off of the stage incurs a +30 second penalty. In level 2 the in-game timer freezes when you enter the "Nano Gallery". In level 4, if you collect all of the bonus items and use the warp portal you will be sent back to the start of the stage with the in-game timer reset to what it was when the level began originally.
So I've been thinking about what to call the "100%" category of this game since it's not technically a true 100%. Because there's 51 stages in the game and the "100%" route only lets you complete 50, how about we take a page from the Super Mario World community and rename it "50 Exits"?
Also, would it be worth it to maybe add a "Bonus%" category for completing the five stages unlocked with the password from the credits? Since the speed shoes basically invalidate many of the puzzles and intended level solutions in the game, what about a "No Shoes" category too?
http://ew.com/article/2013/09/10/nsync-plays-hacky-sack-vma/
I genuinely thought the hacky sack minigame was just some stupid thing that the game "devs" hamfisted into the game because it was a bare bones basic "game" that someone had thrown together.
I appreciate it, otherwise my run would've stuck out like a sore thumb and been at the bottom of the Any% category for sure. Now it can be at the bottom of the new UNCOLA% category! XD
(Also I'm only pointing this out because I'm never going to be able to not see it, but the leaderboard category is actually misspelled as "UNICOLA", with an I.)
It looks really nice. The Speedrun.com logo is really clever. :)
Hi, new prospective SM64 runner here and I just wanted to get a few things clarified before I make any official attempts. I've read the "Rules" pop-up and the points outlined there are understood.
Obviously, I know cheating of any kind is not permitted, but I am curious to know what else could be grounds for a rejected submission?
What I mean is, what are things that I could do during a run that would invalidate it?
Am I permitted to check a guide? Am I allowed to pause the game at any point? I know these things waste time, but I am not looking to dethrone cheese05 overnight. Baby steps.
I am also curious about the SM64 community's thoughts on "obnoxious" stream overlays, such as graphics or text that pop up for new followers, bits, etc. If something obscures the game visuals is that okay? And if so, how much of the game can be obscured by a notification or pop-up before it's a problem?
Thank you all for taking the time to read my concerns. I apologize if they seem a bit strange, but in my time as a runner of various games I've run into some really bizarre do's and don'ts. Like I said, I just want to make sure I get things off on a good start and don't have any verification problems with my first run (whenever I eventually submit it).
edit: This is for a 120 star run, by the way.
