Birkin G2 Roof Hands Damageless

Below is a quick guide to avoid the roof hands from Birkin G2 in the sewer power room. Works 100% of the time.

UPDATE: There is a way to skip the sequence entirely. This has been added here

SKIP SEQUENCE:
Items Needed:
- 1 Grenade

This trick is nice and simple. Wait for Birkin to break down the door. When he has run to the shutter and throw a single grenade at your feet. This will cause Birkin to skip the hands and go straight to breaking down the door.

Not sure who discovered this one but I first saw it on MIKE__WAVE's stream and CrazyGamingDayz stream.

NO DAMAGE SEQUENCE:

Once Birkin has broken the first door you want to move into the corner with the green hose (shown below).

Once in this corner Birkin will attempt to hit you and miss.

You have two options here based on run. If playing as Claire a single flame round on the arm will go to next phase immediately (Thanks to Crazygamingdayz for finding this). Otherwise after 5 attempts he will move onto breaking down the shutter door. You can move into the corner of the shutter and push forward. As he breaks it down you will pass him immediately no damage.

Leon Standard 120 G3 Backup Guide

Common "mistakes" with Easy backups (your run is not dead if these happen): 

Breaking Leg Eye in 2 Hits (or the rare 1 hit): 

I see people reset for this sometimes and you really shouldn't. There’s a few options, two of which either switch to the next knife after breaking the shoulder eye (safer, but riskier for durability) or after breaking the back eye, which is likely mandatory for 1 slash and also eliminates more durability worries for Tyrant, which does have a minimum (it will depend on your ability on Tyrant, but i’d say below 250 can get risky for me, unless you practice Tyrant a lot). 

Durability worries are a bigger deal if on a run with bad DA, which would be a damageless run (1200 hp), a run with just a lick or dog hit (1020 hp), or just a dog hit with door cancelling stagger (1100 hp), so you really don’t want a 2 slash on a bad DA run honestly. Good DA run for reference is either normal grab setup (860 hp) or grounded licker slash (900 hp) (all these videos are recorded with optimal DA as if you were at 860 btw and these are possible at higher anyway. Durability after boss is what's most affected anyway).

	You can also do the bossfight like how Furetto does to avoid this 2/1 slash situation entirely,  but I would not really consider this a backup and more or less a different G3 strat. It involves knifing more on the shoulder eye to break in 4 and then switching the knife after shoulder eye breaks. I feel like it can be risky to adapt to this strat if you can’t already break G3’s shoulder eye in 2 slashes most of the time with the other method because you will be at a deficit compared to normal for you. This strat does not seem any faster or slower than the regular as far as its currently known, so it’s a viable option.

Missing Back Eye: 

Anyone who has tried the knife only strat knows how hard it is to break the backeye. If you whiff all 3 knife slashes, prepare to make your way towards g3's front, then shoot his back eye. If it was a close miss, it can break in 1 shot, but often in 2. It isn't a hard shot to hit once you understand where you are aiming. Getting a crit on this eye can kill the run and be careful to knife low after eye breaks to not accidentally hit his front/make him get up instantly. This backup's only downside is losing about 2 seconds, but it’s better than a dead run to be honest.

Breaking Leg Eye in 6 Slashes (tricky backup):

On the polar opposite of the spectrum for G3, breaking the leg eye in too many slashes is also problematic (and I'd say in 7 is likely a dead run). What you want to do is only go for 2 slashes after breaking leg eye and go towards the wall on the left, then do the fight as normal.

In the clip, I got a fast slam at the cost of a fast shoulder eye knife due to space. You can walk farther back for a slightly slower/farther slam that allows for more room to knife shoulder.

Almost complete, besides medallion input delay times. Input delay in general in Re2 seems to be 8 frames at 120fps (0.066 repeating between inputs minimum), but there's still weird stuff with the medallions that warrants more testing. It's not really super important for now, but I'll append this once we bother to test that thoroughly. There is a weird rhythm to executing them to avoid dropped inputs and its difficult to explain at the moment.

- Go to LOW-TEMP TESTING LAB, take [DISPERSAL CARTRIDGE (HERBICIDE)].
- Head back through LOUNGE to GREENHOUSE CONTROL ROOM. Use herbicide.
- Take [LEVEL 3 WRISTBAND]. Go back through LOBBY → MAIN SHAFT → WEST AREA.
- Use modulator in BIOTESTING LAB (A,S). Retrieve G-VIRUS. [DEFEAT G3].
- Use LIFT → MAIN SHAFT → LIFT.
- RUN! Take [JOINT-PLUG], defeat TYRANT [END].

# Route

- Take BOLT CUTTERS. Go back to STORAGE ROOM.
- Walk to and [ENTER RPD]. Go to BREAK ROOM. Take FUSE.
- Head to EAST OFFICE and take [VALVE HANDLE] from the desk.
- Go to RECEPTION → OPERATIONS ROOM.
- Take the [DETONATOR (NO BATTERY)] and head to S.T.A.R.S OFFICE on 2F.
- Take the [9V BATTERY] from the desk, use stairs to get to 3F.
- Take the [SPADE KEY] from the 3F DESK. Go to WEST STORAGE.
- Detonate, solve the [MAIDEN] (Ram, Harp, Bird).
- Go through LIBRARY → LOUNGE.
- Solve the [UNICORN] (Children, Scales, Snake)
- Go back through LIBRARY to MAIN HALL. Solve the [LION] (Crown, Fire, Bird).
- Go to PARKING, use machine, follow Ada. Take [SQUARE CRANK].
- Go through KENNELS, use CRANK on DOOR.
- Take [ELECTRONIC A] from GENERATOR ROOM. Solve SWITCH PUZZLE (Off, On, On, Off).
- Head back through OPENED DOOR and UP to BREAK ROOM.
- OUTSIDE → UPSTAIRS → CRANK DOOR → UP STAIRS → EAST STORAGE → [LARGE GEAR].
- Head to BALCONY → DOWN LADDER and STAIRS. Take [CLUB KEY]. Flip WATER LEVER.
- Go back UP, use second WATER LEVER.
- Head INSIDE → PAST HELICOPTER → OUTSIDE → DOWN.
- Go through EAST OFFICE → MAIN HALL → RECEPTION → RECORDS ROOM. Take [JACK].
- Retrace to MAIN HALL → LIBRARY → USE JACK → CLOCK TOWER PUZZLE. Take [ELECTRONIC B].
- Fall through LIBRARY UPPER FLOOR. Go EAST OFFICE → BREAK ROOM → back to JAIL PUZZLE.
- Take [KEY CARD]. Leave PARKING. [START ADA] → [FINISH ADA].
- Use LIFT, go UPPER WATERWAY → Past ROOK LOCATION and down to LOWER WATERWAY.
- Slide down, navigate to CONTROL ROOM → MONITOR ROOM → TREATMENT POOL ROOM.
- Take [T-BAR HANDLE].
- Take EXIT back to LOWER WATERWAY → WORKROOM LIFT. Take HIP POUCH. Take [ROOK].
- Go back through WORKROOM LIFT → LOWER WATERWAY take stairs down to BOTTOM WATERWAY.
- Take [QUEEN and [KING] from SUPPLIES STORAGE ROOM.
- Head back through BOTTOM WATERWAY → TREATMENT POOL ROOM → MONITOR ROOM.
- Solve CHESS PUZZLE (Clockwise from DOOR, Queen, Bishop, King, Pawn, Rook, Knight).
- Solve MAIN POWER ROOM PUZZLE (Off,On,On,On). [SAVE ADA]. Go to CABLE CAR PLATFORM.
- Go UP LADDER in CAFETERIA → KITCHEN → NAP ROOM. Take [GENERAL STAFF WRISTBAND].
- Go through RECEPTION → MAIN SHAFT take [SIGNAL MODULATOR].
- Head to EAST AREA TREATMENT ROOM → CONTROL ROOM.
- Solve GREENHOUSE PUZZLE (2048,5831). Take [DISPERSAL CARTRIDGE (EMPTY)].
- Solve SOLUTION PUZZLE (B,R,G,B,R,G,B,R). Take [DISPERSAL CARTRIDGE (SOLUTION)].
- Head down through LOUNGE, use modulator (URF: W,W,W,W,D).
- Go to LOW-TEMP TESTING LAB, take [DISPERSAL CARTRIDGE (HERBICIDE)].
- Head back through LOUNGE to GREENHOUSE CONTROL ROOM. Use herbicide.
- Take [LEVEL 3 WRISTBAND]. Go back through LOBBY → MAIN SHAFT → WEST AREA.
- Use modulator (AWS: W,W,W,D,D,D,D,D) in BIOTESTING LAB. Retrieve G-VIRUS. [DEFEAT G3].
- Use LIFT → MAIN SHAFT → LIFT.
- RUN! Take JOINT-PLUG, [DEFEAT TYRANT]. Defeat G4. [TRUE END].
