MCSR Fairplay
MCSR Fairplay is a mod intended to help with anti-cheat and verification. When using Fairplay, you should do /seed after completing a run (even for SSG), which sends clickable text in chat that opens the verification screens. The verification screens show the mods being used, the F3 screen, resource packs, and data packs. After viewing all verification screens, you'll have the option of creating a zip file containing all files needed for verification, which you should use if you intend on submitting the run. Some other features of the mod:
- level.dat is encrypted until /seed.
- Inputs are logged when you're in a world and the game window is focused.
- Save reversion mode (accessible through SpeedrunAPI's config screen) must be enabled for save reversion. Save reversion mode should remain disabled for runs that aren't external glitched.
Video showing how to go through the verification screens:
Fairplay is not required as of yet but strongly recommended.
Chunkcacher illegalization
Chunkcacher has some parity issues on certain seeds that are difficult to fix without significantly worsening performance. Due to this, and in light of SeedQueue, we are phasing it out alongside SeedQueue ports. Thus, as of today it is illegal for 1.16.1 and 1.15.2.
There will be a grace period of 30 days to remove the mod, ending on November 25th 5:00 AM GMT. Afterwards, runs using it on 1.16.1 and 1.15.2 will be rejected.
Updated category extensions
A 1.21.9+ split for All Swords has been added due to the addition of the Copper sword.

The rules have been officially reorganised - nothing has changed.
The rules for the Minecraft: Java Edition leaderboards have officially been rewritten and updated. The goal of rewriting the rules was to create one, definitive place wherein all MCSR rules are stored, completely eliminating any additional rule documents, ticket rules, or inconsistencies. To be clear, the intention of this rewrite is not to change the rules, but instead to accurately record and categorise them, regardless of their perceived 'quality'.
You can view the most recent version of the rules at https://www.minecraftspeedrunning.com/public-resources/rules, and you can also view the version history of the document at https://github.com/Minecraft-Java-Edition-Speedrunning/rules. With the release of this document, the rules on speedrun.com (as well as any extra rules documents) will be retired and archived.
Due to the length of this document, an abridged version of the rules is also available on speedrun.com, which provides a brief summary of the key aspects of the rules: https://www.speedrun.com/mc?rules=game
Additionally, an updated video to help with submitting runs as well as world files/logs/other proof has been created:
Changes to the rules will take place on the document, and we will still notify you of changes here on speedrun.com and in the #leaderboard-changelog channel in the Minecraft Java Speedrunning Discord server, albeit in a slightly more structured format. If you have any questions or suggestions, please don't hesitate to open a thread in the #help channel in the Discord server.
