Hey! We have have a lot to share with you today regarding the growing concern around game-damaging updates from IOI and the future of hitman speedrunning.
1) First, we all hope you are enjoying the new Herbalist Elusive Target, and we are happy to share that the leader board has been updated to include Snoop. Additionally, the ET will be split between the official Elusive Target + Arcade and the new Special Assignment due to differing spawn-point availability. Finally, we will also be changing the elusive target order from chronological to reverse chronological to make it easier for players to find the most recent, and often times most popular, elusive target at the time (https://www.speedrun.com/hitman_woa_ets).
2) Unfortunately, the new ET wasn't the only thing added to the game in the last update, as we also saw game-breaking AI changes (for the second update in a row) to a level we haven't seen before. This update would normally have invalidated nearly all Mumbai skywalk, Hokkaido bomb launch, Sapi tower, and Colorado any% individual level runs as well as all the S1, S2, and Trilogy full-game runs on the leader board (again). Instead, after months of consideration and debate, we've decided that the best way to future-proof ourselves is to allow down patching for all Hitman WoA leader boards. This was something that was previously polled during the last update and saw a majority of players in favor of down patching of some kind after a much less damaging update.
How will it work? All Hitman WoA leader boards will now allow players to down patch to any version from 3.100 to current and submit runs. In defense of fair play, we are banning all versions before the release of Hitman WoA on Steam (3.100) and all tech associated with those versions (Druz wall bang, Berlin utility hole, etc.). We will work quickly to move all applicable NLP runs back to the leader boards and abolish the NLP category in favor of an external spreadsheet for all runs that used still banned glitches. We understand the concern that this may cause console players and I promise I am personally looking into a mutually beneficial solution, but this was something we needed to address quickly considering the number of runs affected by the latest update. Any and all information pertaining to down patching can be found here (https://rekt05.github.io/hitman-downpatching/), including what down patching is, how to do it, and notable patches. We encourage everyone and anyone to reach out for questions, as we understand this is going to take some time to get used to, but we hope, given some time, that we find ourselves in a more stable position with the game we all love so much. Thank you so much for your time and good luckInformation on downpatching Hitman WoA
All Y1 banned runs are preserved and can be found here (https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1reUOH0CxtILSQR3VhQs2uZoZ3ONMiaxcEx1VhW3qDaI/edit?usp=sharing).
Hey! Hope you're all enjoying the newest elusive target and most recent update to Hitman: World of Assassination. We just have a few speedrun-related changes to go over briefly below. Thank you for your time. (https://ioi.dk/hidden/h3-patchnotes)
Jar of Mom's Spaghetti Collision: Collision has been removed from the Jar of Spaghetti item introduced as part of the Slim Shady ET. This has invalidated all runs that use it as a boost item and we will work to NLP those runs as we find them. Unfortunately we can't just search spaghetti on SRC.
Chawls and Ninja Starts: Both of these starts were previously broken in the last major update and have now been fixed. All runs invalidated by this (mostly Chawls) have been re-verified as possible on the SRC leaderboards. If we missed any runs, feel free to reach out to let us know.
New Elusive Target: The Harbinger elusive target has been added to the game and, as such, we've added a leaderboard for this level found here: https://www.speedrun.com/hitman_woa_ets/leaderboards?h=the-harbinger-SASO-standard&x=l_drpgy88w-n2yew6mk-onv70m7n.rqv9oz6l . This ET includes two categories because of the '12mins later' starting location that adds an additional automatically infected target and exit to the level. The different starting location is NOT included in the ET (Official or Peacock) and only exists in the arcade (accessible via Harbinger Pack) which also contributed to our decision to separate the level into two categories.
Small Clarification: Jar of Mom's Spaghetti still has particles so it can be used as a throwable boost item. What changed is you can no longer place it to boost or drop it to boost like VHS.
Hey everyone ! After waiting for the dust to settle around the most recent major update, I'm here to talk about everything we know and talk about the decision we've, made with the help of the poll, regarding downpatching.
Firstly and most importantly I want to talk about downpatching. The poll resulted much like our mod vote where most people would be okay with downpatching (w/ caveats), but nobody could agree on how to implement it leaving the option to treat this patch the same as others the most popular preferred choice. Because of this and our subsequent mod discussion we've decided the best course of action is to treat this patch the same as others, NLP relevant runs, and move on (for now). Something tells me this will be further discussed in the future, but for now this is how we'll proceed forward on SRC. Below you can find all the changes we know of and how they've affected the leaderboard. Thank you for your time. (NLP = No Longer Possible)
Changes:
- Newspaper KO changed to soft KO (confirmed intentional) -> NLP
- Subdue Glitch Patched (confirmed intentional) -> NLP
- Guard AI Changes (the extent is unknown) -> NLP on a case by case basis, but nothing so far
- Movement Changes (lunge and nullification of strafing) -> Not NLPing right now
- Chawls start CS is shorter and camera spawns in the ceiling (who knows) -> NLP until a future patch we hope
- Ninja start camera spawns backwards (again, who knows) -> Not NLPing as CS is same duration and no time is lost due to time to uncover
Hey everyone, we hope you're all well. We wanted to make a quick announcement here to update the community on what has changed in the most recent Hitman update. At this time, we're still trying to process what exactly has changed and decide the best course forward. Below is a rundown of everything we know about what changed and we ask that you all read, consider and use this information to vote on the future of the Hitman WoA leaderboard here - https://forms.gle/YpZcB5EuRa79G4jt9. The information gathered will only be shared among the moderation team and will only be used to help us make the best decision that best represents the opinions of the community. Thank you.
SRC Relevant Changes
- Subdue Glitch, which allowed players to launch themselves upwards when subduing someone while changing direction in cover, is no longer possible. This change has been confirmed as intentional by IOI and is probably permanently gone. For now, all runs using subdue glitch will be labeled NLP.
- The Newspaper item (as found on NY and WC) is not longer a hard KO item. NPCs hit with it are now just knocked down and will get back up automatically. For now, all runs using the newspaper item for a KO will be labeled NLP.
Possibly Relevant Changes
- This is the first update since the release of the game where IOI has fundamentally changed some of the Guard AI. Currently we don't know the full extent of these changes or whether they will pose serious issues going forward. One confirmed instance where the AI has changed is the bodyshot enter into the Sapienza gate, which seems completely different and no longer works the same way. We are working to find out if an alternative exists that achieves the same goal at the cost of the same time so that we aren't forced to NLP the entire Sapienza leaderboard and will keep you updated.
- Some of you may have noticed that after shooting, 47 now lunges forward in a way he didn't before, but also that strafing out of pistol shots is now slower than before. This new lunge has presented a difficult challenge for us because it is the same speed as strafing, but both are slower than before by around .1 seconds.
Update: Guard AI changes have been confirmed to be accidental and a result of a premature bug patch. I'm told these changes will be reverted. Responses are changeable in case any news like this changes your opinion in voting. Thanks!
Around a year ago, Ambrose Island was added to the Trilogy and Season 2 categories. Over time the Ambrose included categories have filled up, so the temporary archived ones can officially be removed. The old runs are still viewable in the following places:
Run Archive Viewer (in a similar look to speedrun.com)
These archives are also viewable in a post in the Resources tab
Hey everyone! We have a rather lengthy laundry list of things to announce today, but I will try to keep it concise and let you all get back to your runs.
- Alt + Entering (Banned)
Recently it was discovered that runners could use "Alt + Enter" to switch between fullscreen and windowed screen in order to quickly lower fps for avoiding the bad golf instructor spawn on Sapienza or to fall slower from drops. The issue is this produces inconsistent and sometimes rather drastic issues with blanks frames and missing footage when recorded. Because of this we've decided it's safest and best to just not allow Alt + Entering for speedruns on SRC and hope you all understand our reasoning.
- Tranq Glitch (Unbanned for ETs and ESCs)
As some of you will recall, Tranq Glitch was unbanned not too long ago from the main Hitman WoA leaderboards. During the time since, we've seen TG be accepted and utilized to further push the game in what we view as a very positive direction. Because of this, we've decided it reasonable to unban TG for the Elusive Targets and Escalations leaderboards as well. However, TG WILL remain banned for CEs and Freelancer because of the nature of the categories.
- Magic Guns/Scripted Guns (Banned for CEs)
Scripted Guns is a glitch that occurs when weapons from scripted game events (e.g., the FUSIL G1-4/C in the Colorado training evacuation) retain abnormal properties like incorrect sounds (no loud gunshot. gun is treated as silenced) or bodies found not affecting Silent Assassin rating. Similarly to Tranq Glitch, use of the Magic Guns glitch is allowed on the Hitman WoA main, elusive targets, and escalations leaderboards, but remains banned for the category extension leaderboard.
- Bangkok/Sarajevo Six Penalty (Removing Additional Penalty)
To keep it simple, we've decided that the Bangkok/Sarajevo Six specific penalty of 10 seconds has become outdated quite quickly and is not longer something we feel necessary to keep. All resets for any Hitman WoA fullgame speedruns will now follow the same default penalty rules.
Thank you all for your time and goodluck!
Hey everyone ! You may or may not have noticed some of the LBs changing to include ms for many more runs than before. Currently we're in the process of converting roughly the top 10 runs for every individual level LB to milliseconds to hopefully encourage more competition, optimization, and innovation. This will apply to all Hitman WoA individual level leaderboards only and will NOT affect fullgame leaderboards. This is the first step towards our ultimate goal of all speedruns being timed via milliseconds and where every run earns it's place on the leaderboard.
In addition, we will immediately convert all incoming IL submissions to milliseconds during verification. If you discover any speedruns where the milliseconds timing is wrong, please reach out to a moderator so we can take action. We thank you for your time and wish you goodluck!
Milliseconds Calculator --> https://solderq35.github.io/time-calc-under-5/
Hello! With the release of Hitman WoA on the Switch 2 and mobile (unreleased), we've been forced to discuss and decide that these versions of the game are so uniquely different that they cannot be allowed on the same leaderboard as PC/Console.
Switch 2 - It's been made clear to us that the port to the Switch 2 has produced many bugs in the game that are not present on any other platform, and could absolutely give an unfair advantage. Unless all of these Switch 2 specific bugs suddenly disappear, we believe this justifies a separate leaderboard for all Switch 2 speedruns.
Mobile - We understand that the mobile version of Hitman WoA is yet to be released, but we have certain expectations of the game and how it will work. We believe how different the game is physically played and the hardware limitations of mobile justify treating it as it's own game.
I will support and assist any speedrun interest that spawns from the Switch 2 and mobile communities, but I believe that these leaderboards should only be managed by players from those platforms. As it stands, this means we'll personally take no steps in establishing leaderboards ourselves, but feel free to reach out with any questions. Thank you all and goodluck!
Hey gamers , Twitch has officially gone live with their 100 hour limit on highlights which means any runs with a "dead link" will be rejected in compliance with the rule requiring all runs to have a viewable video. This doesn't affect anyone wishing to resubmit their runs with a valid link, but we ask that all runs be submitted via Youtube, Bilibili, or Google Drive (visibility set to public).
In addition, we're making one final change regarding game audio to bring our rules more in line with the standard of most games on speedrun.com. All future submissions to any Hitman WoA leaderboard will be required to have game audio audible, doing away with moderator discretion. This will also apply to large gaps of muted audio within a run with an emphasis on any audio being better than no audio.
Thank you and goodluck!
Hello Hitman Gamers !
Today we are doing a small adjustment to the existing rules, mainly these two things:
1) Twitch is no longer considered a reliable upload platform, due to twitch implementing their 100-hour storage limit. We will honor existing runs, but if your run is found to be missing after the 100 hour storage limit is set to go in place on April 20th, your run will be rejected due to missing video proof. Because of this, twitch runs will also not be accepted as an upload method going forward. We'll continue to monitor the situation, but for now any runs submitted via twitch highlights will be rejected.
2) We are simplifying the rules regarding video and audio anomalies into a singular rule for improved clarity.
Before:
Otherwise suspicious runs without game audio will be rejected as moderator discretion.
Otherwise suspicious runs with Recording skips/ frame drops/ heavy lag will be rejected at moderator discretion.
Now:
Otherwise suspicious runs with video skips/other visual anomalies including but not limited to frame drops, significant ghosting, excessively low bitrate, or similar audio anomalies including but not limited to missing or inaudible in-game audio will be rejected at moderator discretion.
Thank you all for taking the time and thank you to @Tinosaurus for implementing the changes to SRC.
Hey everyone!
We've recently become aware that the new twitch highlight limit can and will affect a number of runs on the hitman leaderboards. Twitch will begin deleting affected videos on April 19th. Speedrun.com has implemented an update to help both runners and moderators identify at risk runs (https://www.speedrun.com/news/o2vko35l-twitch-runs-at-risk-are-now-visible-for-runners-moderators). We encourage anyone with a run submitted via twitch highlights to re-upload their run to YouTube and edit their speedrun submission to include the new link. You can check if any of your runs are at risk by navigating to Profile > Pending > Video at Risk.
Due to this, we will not accept twitch highlights as a form of submission going forward. I also want to emphasize that any runs that become unviewable will be removed. We will do our part to try and preserve runs and verify edited runs.
Thank you all for your attention and time.
Hello everyone, I hope you're all having a great start to the new year! We have 3 pretty important topics below to share new rules about so I appreciate you all taking the time to read this!
1) TG Poll Results - After about a week or polling and a subsequent week of deliberation we have decided that the poll didn't reflect strongly enough in favor of allowing TG for CEs, ETs, or Escalations. While roughly 60% of players were in favor of TG on at least one leaderboard, the votes were evenly spread across the three LBs meaning no single leaderboard received a significant majority vote in favor of allowing TG. Tranq glitch will remain unbanned ONLY for the main Hitman: World of Assassination leaderboard.
2) Nvidia Profile Tweaker - Tweaking the games visuals beyond the extent of the in-game settings menu via third party tools such as nvidiaprofileinspector, or editing the game's .ini files will not be allowed. These tools create an unfair playing field for speedrunners and throw verification of runs into question.
3) OnlineTools SDK - OnlineTools was recently added to the ZHMModSDK as a simple and easy way to switch servers, even while the game is running. This mostly affects Peacock users switching between Official and Peacock thus we see no issue with players using the tool.
That wraps up our current SRC announcements. Thanks again for your time and I hope you all have the best luck in your runs!
Hello Hitman WoA Speedrunners ! The moderation team and myself have been heavily discussing a number of topics over the last couple weeks that will undoubtedly change the future of the game. I hope you all understand that every decision listed below was not made lightly and we feel that these decisions will be best for the game going into the new year. Without further ado, thank you for your time and your trust. We hope you all have a Happy Holidays and good luck agents.
1) Tranq Glitch - We have decided that in the current scope of the game the ban on tranq glitch was outdated and not a reflection of the community's opinion on the tech. Because of this, we have made the first step in unbanning TG starting with the Hitman WoA main leaderboards on SRC. We will continue to discuss and monitor the community's thoughts on this in the coming months, but for the time being TG will remain banned for all other leaderboards.
2) Fullgame Reset Penalty - We have revised the rules regarding resetting during fullgame speedruns to apply a penalty for all resets from the start of the level to the end, including during cutscene. This will be a 1 second minimum penalty for all resets and after 1 second the penalty will be equivalent to the time on the in-game timer when the reset takes place. The only exceptions to this are Bangkok and all Sarajevo Six levels which will carry a higher 10 second minimum penalty. This is a change that will take time to be fully reflected on the leaderboards, but we will work as quickly as possible to retroactively apply penalties where applicable. This new rule applies to ALL Hitman leaderboards with fullgame speedruns.
3) Elusive Target Stuff:
- The Splitter LB - The Splitter has been added to the Hitman WoA Elusive Targets leaderboard. Because Agent 47 is forced to start in a disguise, Suit Only (SO) is not possible and we will only accept SA and Any% submissions.
4) Autosplitter Issues - I just wanted to end this by quickly addressing the issues that players have been having with the Peacock and Freelancer autosplitters by assuring you that we are aware and working on it. An announcement will be made as soon as these programs are back online and working.
Hello Hitman WoA Speedrunners! This is a very important and impactful announcement so I hope you all take the time to read this message in its entirety.
The moderation team and myself have decided to ban ALL visual and game changing mods from Hitman: WoA speedrun submissions going into effect immediately. I know this will be somewhat controversial, but I hope you all understand that our only goal with this is to ensure the integrity and validity of the speedruns we verify. All speedruns currently on speedrun.com that use mods will NOT be removed and are now grandfathered in. This new rule only applies to speedrun submissions from this point forward. Below I've answered a few questions I expect to be asked, but feel free to reach out to me with any further questions or concerns. Thank you for your time and trust.**
1) Why make this change? This decision was not made lightly and has been discussed on and off even before I was ever a member of the moderation team. The core of this comes down to the sheer number of mods and an inability to verify that they don't impact the way the game functions.
2) Is Peacock still allowed? Absolutely, but Peacock plugins/mods are not.
3) Can I still have Ansel/Freecam installed? Yes, you do not need to uninstall. This rule applies directly to mods that are visible and game changing. As long as Ansel/Freecam isn't used or active during the run then it's okay.
Hello again Hitman WoA speedrunners! As you may know, Ambrose island has officially been moved into it's place in the Hitman WoA trilogy which means we are now tasked with figuring out the best way to implement the change to the SRC leaderboards. We as a team have decided the best action for now is to add a 'w/ Ambrose' category to the Trilogy and Season 2 leaderboards. We strongly encourage runners to play the 'w/ Ambrose' categories as having two Trilogy and S2 leaderboards is strictly temporary. Our hope is that eventually we can simplify and phase out the current categories as the new 'w/ Ambrose' leaderboards fill up. Along with this change is a decision to remove the Season 2 (no DLC) category and move forward with Season 2 and Season 2 w/ Ambrose. We hope that these changes will best support and sustain the community into the future. Thank you so much for reading and goodluck!
Hello speedrunners! We've come to the decision to allow a maximum of 3 ties for a world record where a 4th tying run will trigger us to convert the runs to milliseconds. The poll was pivotal in this decision and opened our eyes to how close this debate was. Because of this, we will likely reopen the discussion in a few months after we get a feel for how the current rule is working. We'll be working to slowly, but surely convert all applicable runs to milliseconds for all Hitman leaderboards. We do have an important announcement to make about speedruns UNDER 7 seconds. Normally the vanilla game will not show a score for runs under 7 seconds, but will show the score breakdown if a player presses P on the rating screen. This means we would be able to accurately sort and convert speedruns like Freeform training Any% to ms by requiring players to press P after any run under 7 seconds. This will all be updated in the rules section on speedrun.com. Thank you for your time and future patience!
Hello everyone! Today we have decided to reverse the ban on wearing the "Midnight Black Suit" in Mendoza. This will apply to all Hitman WoA categories and games. We feel the glitch is not nearly game breaking enough to warrant a ban for our speedruns, also it is very stylish :D
For those who dont know, the midnight black suit allows 47 to be in and around Don Yates’ villa without trespassing. Good luck and we are excited to see any new runs with this suit!
Hello again everyone!
Mendoza has been a contentious level because of it's dependence on hardware and fps, but we have decided to account for milliseconds since it reached a 10 way tie. The update to the individual leaderboard is live and I hope to someday see a 38 from one of you amazing runners! (https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1EEEfngf7RCA_fUsdMQy5no_HJcwT8Fqz7ppL_1-WR-A/edit?usp=sharing)
Thanks for your time and goodluck!
Hello everyone!
Just a quick post to let you all know that because of the massive tie on The Icon SA and SA/SO leaderboards we've changed it to include milliseconds. The changes are live and this will hopefully make the level more competitive! If you see any errors with your run or others, feel free to DM me. (https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1k9Gz5VOoisJJadSMrDrpwON1ZVWMDr997Me8hRdta_A/edit#gid=0)
Also, I wanted to announce that the Heritage UI Crosshair is banned as well as any mods that modify or remove the vanilla in-game crosshair. To clarify, Heritage UI and third party crosshair applications are NOT banned, only mods that change the in-game crosshair. This change will help us ensure fair competition between all runners.
Thank you very much for your time!
Because of the August 17th patch (https://ioi.dk/hitman/patch-notes/2023/hitman-woa-august-patch-notes), we have moved multiple runs to the “No Longer Possible” category. Runs from the Hitman 3 main boards, category extensions, elusive targets, and freelancer were all affected. This patch has only affected runs with Dartmoor due to:
-
Ledge drop outside of Alexa’s bedroom being removed
-
Audio distractions not being heard by guards in and around the trophy room
The audio patches have mainly affected runs that use Rebecca lure, and runs that shoot the door to panic the guards standing near the hearse key. As well as runs being moved because of this current patch, there also were multiple runs moved because of previous patches that were not spotted before, mostly relating to the other ledge drop methods being removed. All affected runs can be found under the No Longer Possible/NLP tab on SRC. Thanks!
As of today, we've completed the migration of Sarajevo Six runs and leaderboards to the main Hitman 3 leaderboard and have added leaderboards for Sarajevo Six category extensions. After the recent release of Sarajevo Six to the official game we felt it best to move everything to improve ease of access and discoverability. New leaderboards for the Sarajevo Six can be found here: https://www.speedrun.com/hitman_3 and https://www.speedrun.com/hitman_3_extensions. Thanks so much and good luck!
We're very happy to announce the brand new Hitman 3 (WoA) Freelancer Leaderboard! Please be sure to read ALL the rules for the game and each category to avoid confusion or rejected runs. If you have any questions, feel free to message myself or another mod on discord or src. There will surely be changes made as we discover new strategies and build more tools, but our focus will always be on the runners. We look forward to seeing your runs and wish you good luck agents!
Boosts are back and as far as we can tell so far they are exactly how they used to be, so all prior runs that were only invalidated by boosts were restored to main category for the Hitman 3 Leaderboards.
To avoid repeating myself, see here for a list of other Hitman patch changes as they pertain to speedruns (including info that is not included on the official patch notes):
https://hitruns-wiki.vercel.app/docs/h3_patch_notes
Screenshot Examples of the Merged Leaderboards:

The MAIN Hitman 3 leaderboard (https://www.speedrun.com/hitman_3/) can be considered open for submissions again, and we will start verifying runs off of the queue.
The category extensions / elusive targets / escalation boards are still being updated for the new patch until further notice.
NOTE: All runs that are only affected by boost-related patch changes (that are otherwise compatible with current patch) are being stored in a category "NLP (Temporary)". The plan is to merge all of these runs back into the Standard (Current Patch Possible) category later, as IOI has promised that boosts are returning to how they were before: https://ioi.dk/hidden/h3-patchnotes?panel=hitman%2Fpatch-notes%2Fjanuary-patch-notes
More Details on the Patch (New Findings)
We recently discovered that the red tie kiwi, apple, soap, apricot, flower pot can still be boosted with.
The red tie kiwi is the most notable, as it's an unlockable item you can bring into the level.
So, we have decided to keep some but not all of the runs using boosts from before the patch.
The kiwi produces less particles than muffin / violin did, so more precision is needed in where you are standing when you throw it, where you throw, your timing, etc.
Overall, the kiwi's reliability for boosts is roughly the same for stairs with lower railing, but stairs with high railing or certain chairs or tables etc are unreliable or impossible with kiwi.
Kiwi + breacher also does not seem possible at this time.
Any runs that used two muffins are also not considered possible anymore, as there's only one kiwi.
Also, any runs that maxed out the inventory and then used breakable object on the level to boost (e.g. some Sapienza SASO runs would bring in sniper, pistol, duck, and grab a brick) are no longer possible due to lack of inventory space.
List of runs / categories affected (main missions, non exhaustive) List of runs Backup link (rentry is finnicky recently)
Submissions for Hitman 3 are temporarily closed since particles got patched today and we need some time to sort out the runs that are no longer possible.
IOI said in their patch notes that the particle boosting glitch will return in a future patch (https://ioi.dk/hidden/h3-patchnotes?panel=hitman%2Fpatch-notes%2Fjanuary-patch-notes).
We will be creating a second "No Longer Possible" category specifically for runs affected by only particle boosting, so that we can merge the runs back into the Standard (main) category later when the particle boosts return.
Due to people having a hard time navigating to the "No Longer Possible" Archived Runs Google Spreadsheet (https://cutt.ly/h3_patched_runs), and also because the Google Sheet becomes harder to read as more and more patched runs are added, we have transitioned No Longer Possible runs back to speedrun.com under their own category, with helpful comments included for the reason any given run may not be possible on current patch.
You can hover your mouse over the sticky note icon as well to quickly glance over the rejection reason for each run on a leaderboard.
Note the linked wiki page to Hitman 3 patch notes that specifically affected speedruns: https://hitruns-wiki.vercel.app/docs/h3_patch_notes
The full game No Longer Possible runs have been back on speedrun.com for awhile now actually but the patch specific information for them was added recently, and the individual level No Longer Possible runs were added back recently as well. I was busy with school for awhile...
We may or may not continue to maintain the Google Sheet in the future but we will prioritize listing all No Longer Possible runs on speedrun.com directly. Thanks for understanding, and be sure to point out any errors in the No Longer Possible runs to the mod team (run marked in wrong category, wrong patch reason, etc).

EDIT: Poll is now closed
You must have 5 individual level runs / 1 full game run to be qualified to vote.
UPDATE OCTOBER 14: Added "No Longer Possible" category on the main Hitman 3 leaderboard specifically for full game runs, as shown here. For information on patched individual level runs, as more information on patched runs in general, please refer to: https://cutt.ly/h3_patched_runs or https://hitruns.vercel.app/h3_patched_runs.html for more information.
UPDATE OCTOBER 12: Run Freeze is lifted, you can submit your runs freely now. Most runs invalidated by patch have been moved to an archive spreadsheet: https://cutt.ly/h3_patched_runs
[Original Text Below]
There is a new patch (https://www.ioi.dk/hitman-3-october-patch-notes/). We will likely be suspending any run submissions for the foreseeable future until we can sort out the many runs invalided by this patch.
Runs affected by the patch include but are not limited to:
- Any molotov runs for SA and SA/SO (no longer accident)
- Any runs with RFID exit exploit (Illusions of Grandeur record, among others)
- Any runs with New York Frisk Skip (which includes just about every SA/SO Season 2 and Trilogy run).
How long will it take for these runs to be removed and for submissions to open up again? Don't know, there are a lot of runs and a lot of mods such as myself are getting busier IRL now. Might be a couple weeks.
After some internal moderator discussion, we have decided to delay the Ambrose full game category poll until IOI adds Ambrose to the "Campaign" menu, as there is a good chance IOI themselves will clear up Ambrose's location as part of Season 2 or 3 campaigns.
Thanks for understanding. And remember, regardless of what speedrun.com looks like, you can always run your own category for your own enjoyment.
Edit: To be clear, you can submit any full game runs you like now, there is no longer an embargo. However, remember that full game categories may change in future.
We have also added Ambrose to the Hitman 3 / Hitman 3 Category Extensions Leaderboards as an individual level: https://www.speedrun.com/hitman_3/level/Shadows_in_the_Water_Ambrose_Island https://www.speedrun.com/hitman_3_extensions/level/Shadows_in_the_Water_Ambrose_Island
I've added a few runs already that were done over the past week but not all, so please send in your submissions.
We will have a week long embargo on the new Ambrose Island level, Season 2 full game, and Trilogy categories, in the interest of letting people enjoy this map casually and also to think about how or if to fit the new map into a full game category.
We will add the new map to speedrun.com on August 2, and we will also have a poll on August 2 regarding Ambrose Island's status in the full game categories.
Thanks for your understanding.
Update: The following Master Difficulty runs were rejected if from before May 24:
- Dubai 24-27s (normal leaderboard not Default Loadout) runs from old patch
- Chongqing Default Loadout
- Season 3 and Trilogy (both normal and Default Loadout)
Old Patch Runs Archive: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1HMmk0EIT1rtz4-no6h-ODByo_Sh6ndSp9wYwqGGwxkY/edit?usp=sharing
I want to stress that this was a difficult decision to make. It is definitely not our intention to invalidate the hard earned records of our runners, nor to lose all of the accumulated strat knowledge due to an admittedly minor patch.
However: Given that even full game runs have come within a second of each other in the past, it is best to be prudent and remove any run that can not be performed 1:1 on current patch from the leaderboard, out of fairness.
I've included the Old Patch Runs Archive prominently in the rules for S3 and Trilogy, to empasize that new Master runners should still watch the old patch runs and learn from them, as most stuff is still the same from a strat learning perspective.
Know that this is a game where things are apt to be patched at any time, and at this time there is not a good way to downpatch this game (let's just say that the game being Always Online makes it very difficult to downpatch).
Also, the full game leaderboards may need to be shaken up again come July, when the new map comes out, so you've been warned (depending on how the community feels about it).
Announcement:
The following Master difficulty categories will be re evaluated over the next week and any affected runs may be removed from the leaderboard due to incompatibility with current patch.
(Possibly) Affected Categories for Master
- All 6 S3 levels (to be safe, although it seems like Dartmoor and Romania don't change much, only enforcers)
- S3 full game
- Trilogy full game
Removed runs will probably be archived on a Google Doc for historical record keeping here (no runs have been moved due to today's patch yet): https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1HMmk0EIT1rtz4-no6h-ODByo_Sh6ndSp9wYwqGGwxkY/edit?usp=sharing
