Minor rules adjustments for VODs, 100% and All Seagulls (04.08.2026)

The run will be considered invalid if:

• the submitted footage contains no evidence that the attempt was started from the main menu/pause menu.

Applies to the Top 10 runs:

• The run must begin on a Wednesday (in-game), which should be shown in the submitted footage (main menu start/pause menu before the attempt/phone menu during the attempt).

100%:

• Submitted runs must include the stats screen with "Game Progress 100%" shown at the end of the video or/and the "100% Game Completion" pop-out message.

All Seagulls:

• Submitted runs must either include the subtitle for killing all seagulls ("All seagulls killed. LC is a quieter place.") or stats screen with "Seagulls Killed 50" shown at the end of the video.

FPS Rules Update (21.06.2026)

Rules listed below are now applied to the Top 10 runs (was previously WR only):

• NEW: The maximum allowed FPS is 120 (was 250).
• An FPS monitor must be clearly visible at all times during submitted video.
• The run must begin on a Wednesday (in-game) -> applies to Top 10 runs.

Brothers, the time has come to introduce something new to the world of TLaD speedrunning. Starting from now, runners are free to submit their runs to 'The New Classic' leaderboard. This category takes its roots from the GTA IV's 'Classic' run but features fundamental differences from its origin. Similarly, the ruleset of 'The New Classic' prohibits the usage of taxis or any other means of warping. However, unlike in GTA IV, phone mission restarts are also prohibited, which switches the focus on driving even further. The controversial '33 VD rule' has been lifted for TLaD, meaning the runners are free to change vehicle density or any other setting in the menu as they please. We believe that this ruleset should highlight the true purpose of 'Classic' as well as cover potential inconsistencies. Any constructive feedback on the new category is encouraged. Have fun!
