Of all the communities I think this would be where I would find the answer. I've been unsuccessful thus far to find a solution online. Please forgive me if it already exists. I'm curious if anyone has broken the pattern for the sword fight. I imagine it's useful for a 100% speedrun (if that's a thing). I'm playing the game for the first time and I refuse to move forward without 100% impressed. To keep this brief, I've played it enough to notice repetition in pattern and behavior. I was wondering if there's an in depth breakdown of the pattern. I guess the end goal is to create a definitive strat for this if one does not already exist.
Hello, I am unsure if there exists a breakdown as I haven't seen one. AFAIK has enough randomness to not be predictable. Our discord has a wider visibility on questions such as this, feel free to join and ask as we have some individuals who have broken down the game to this level that should be able to give a more definitive answer.
Hello,
The script for that minigame can be found there: https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/7iiziktw78ijuc4wgnobz/Script_BlankMinigame.txt?rlkey=e5jx7739rz6c6dwlh2h0wgu24&st=z82t2x4x&dl=0
Basically, the buttons are random except that:
- You can't move to the left if you're on the left already,
- You can't move to the right if you're on the right already,
- You can't have up/down buttons if you haven't done 10 correct inputs in a row,
- Buttons Circle / Square are replaced by buttons Triangle / Cross if you haven't done 15 correct inputs in a row,
- You cannot get the same button twice in a row.
That means there is no real fixed pattern, but there are sometimes so little choices that the same patterns tend to appear a lot. In particular, before 10 correct inputs, you may only get Cross / Triangle / Left (or Right), which ends up between just 2 different buttons since the previous button cannot appear again, and amongst them Triangle / Cross are 2x more likely to appear than Left/Right.
