Would other categories such as unrestricted and hard challenge get added in the future as the game's life goes on, it would be interesting seeing other parts of the game get seen when it becomes more accessible to other players.
It will be considered for sure. We are only about 6-7 weeks into the game's full global release and not everyone is going to have the resources to access the stuff needed for a hard mode or unrestricted run. That's why we're kinda keeping the scope small with the avatar skill restricted normal mode runs at first. It's also to drum up hype and support so more runners try it out.
That makes sense, although I do think there might be another category that is slightly more open using the Custom Match feature.
I think All Run Levels/All Run Stages could also work since those levels are unlocked by default within that feature and is a similar length if not less than Stage Challenge. That being said it does have its own issues with menuing and barriers taking 10-15 hits (or 30 if its Chemical Plant 1) to get through instead of the usual 2-6 in Stage Challenge; but other than those issues it is a more accessible run that could get more people interested in the game.
I think I did a VERY rough calculation before and All Run Stages was actually longer than Challenge Mode, but just barely (it's mostly because of menus/stage loading, I think). That being said, it's still a category that I would love to see added to the boards, myself (I would absolutely run it, as well).
Season 3 is Out, Here Are Some Changes
- The extra Stage Challenge missions now have Frozen Factory Survival (Why) and Starlight Carnival Ring Battle 2 and it seems like each season is going to add 2 more stages to that section of the game.
- All Run Stages is affected from 2 more stages being added into the pool (Planet Wisp Run 1 and Planet Wisp Run 2) making the level count go from 33 to 35 and adding ~3 minutes to that run.
- All Survival Stages is affected from Godzilla Survival being added and adding I think ~30 seconds to that run. (Note: I'm still figuring out the quirks of what would be allowed for this category)
- Unstoppable Dash is in the shop and Bomb Dash is this season's stamp reward, not anything worth noting with the current rules but will be useful knowledge if an unrestricted run gets added and also just useful in general for multiplayer matches
Season 4 is Out, Here Are Some Changes
- No new stages for either the season, Custom Matches, or Stage Challenge, honestly quite surprising.
- New Purple rarity Movement + Midair skill, Spiral Kick, works very similar to Air Dash but has an added attack bonus, pretty useful for Run and Team stages.
Unrelated to the Speedrun
- The UI is still the same for both mobile and pc; same with what Rumble+ gives, hopefully going to be added (as well as some other community requested features) later in March but still sucks that its the case.
- We finally have red rings in the non premium pass with the amount of 25 being present, pog.
- Yellow Drill is this season's stamp reward, basically Unstoppable Dash but with an added attack feature, very powerful for multiplayer matches.
And that's all, happy rumbling.
Season 4.5 Adjustments (coming on the 16th) related to speedrun categories
- Not sure if I'm allowed to spoil but we have two stages in stage challenge, so v1.5 will probably be a category. Also on the side, stage challenge rewards have changed from tune up wrenches to red rings (5 per level up)
- We have two more run stages for ARS (this I can spoil because it was part of the direct), Planet Wisp Run 3 and Smurf Run (although that stage is not in custom match so maybe another time), I have no idea how long this will increase the run's length.
Lastly, what are our thoughts on Party Rumble do we consider it a seperate category if we have a way to make custom matches for that gamemode?
Season 5 is Out, Here Are Some Changes
- The New Stage Challenge stages are Chemical Plant Hunt and Desert Ruins Ring Battle.
- New Purple rarity Ring Absorption Skill, Air Ring Swipe. Compared to its grounded counter parts its range isn't as good but hey now you can do the funny double ring swipe in Seaside Hill Ring Battle.
- Wonderland Run, Wonderland Hunt, and Planet Wisp Ring Battle 2 has been added to Custom Match and online in general
Unrelated to the Speedrun
- Avatar Legendary Skills have been nerfed, reducing the movement speed for Cyclone Dash and movement based Legendary Skills as a whole and removing the multi hit from Charge Blast
- Various Character Skills have been tweaked, the most important one is that Sting Barrage got nerfed from 30 rings a hit to 15.
- Cross Slash is this season's stamp reward, an alright projectile and interesting Frontiers Reference but I don't know if its worth obtaining as a legendary ability.
And that's all, happy rumble partying.
MASSIVE CHANGES FOR SEASON 6
- The New Stage Challenges are Sky Sanctuary Run 2 and Green Hill Run 3
- There's now an in game timer and score tracker (how did this appear in Rumble first over Mario Kart or CrossWorlds) that will display for stage challenge missions, it'll count down in missions that are on a timer and up for Survival and Ring Battle stages

Custom Match
- The new stages are Desert Ruins Run 3, Pinball Carnival Survival, and Frozen Factory Ring Battle 3 (also appears in multiplayer)
- Smurf Run has appeared in the Run Stages selection
- Party Rumble stages have appeared, I'll test these stages sometime this week to see if I can make a run thats appealing
Skill Changes (Avatar only)
Epics (Tested from lvl 6 counterparts):
- Race Car's length has increased from 9 tiles to 11 tiles, can jump cancel up to 19 tiles
- Baseball Slide has increased from 4 to 6 tiles, can jump cancel up to 13 and a half tiles
- Air Dash has increased 3 tiles to 5 on ground, 6 tiles to 9 from air, can jump cancel up to 13 tiles (finally this thing is no longer overshadowed by baseball slide)
- Dodge Roll's length has increased from 3 tiles to 4 and can jump cancel to 10 tiles
Legendaries (Tested from Lvl 5 counterparts):
- Cyclone Dash's length has increased from 6 tiles to 7 tiles (not a joke)
- Yellow Drill's length has increased from 9 and a half tiles to 12 tiles
- Unstoppable Dash has a movement buff and also increased length from 9 tiles to 12 tiles
- Bomb Dash's length has increased from 9 tiles to 11 tiles
Unrelated to the speedrun
- Fragments have changed, legendary characters can be grabbed for 3 fragments and epic characters can range from 2 to 4 in the Daily Claw Machine
- New Purple skill is Karate Punch, just an invincibility punch so not that great
- New Legendary skill is Air Kick, think of it as a Baseball Slide you can trigger mid air that has a dive kick like jump cancel (at level 6), and has an attack with it; it is as broken as it sounds
That is all for now, happy Rumble Partying
Season 7 is Out, Here Are Some Changes
- All Run Stages has been added to the Leaderboard Categories

- The New Stage Challenge stages are Chemical Plant Survival (ok) and Silent Forest Ring Battle (ok).
Custom Match
- Sweet Mountain Run 3 and Desert Ruins Ring Battle 2 has been added to Custom Match and Ring Survival. Reminder: Do not do Sweet Mountain Run 3 in ARS until the category versions are updated.
- Party Rumble has added Waterslide Mayham (A variant of Frozen Factory Hunt without Egg Pawns) & Capsule Chaos (A variant of Sweet Mountain Ring Battle with a different pattern)
Unrelated to the Speedrun
- The New Epic Skill is Clap Attack. It sure is an epic attack skill.
- The New Legendary Skill is Charged Shockwave, a longer Ring Swipe variant that has invincibility and can knockback opponents by pressing the skill again to cancel out of the skill early.
- As far as I'm aware nothing was changed regarding run speed or skills this update which is good since that means the devs believe the game is balanced.
That's all, don't forget to log in for 150 rsr + 300 omni fragments for a skin of your choice Happy Rumble Partying.
Runs can be submitted now, I can edit them and put them into the correct catergoy
Is this forum thread a bit redundant since we have category suggestions? I know it's basically used as an update thread but it might be best to make a new thread with all the previous updates together and lock it so people cannot comment on it. We would only unlock it to add a new update. Just make the forum a liiiittle bit neater. It also means I could pin it too
Alright for any future update posting this thread will no longer be used and if you want to check where they will be, check out "Season Update Synopses"
Hey everyone! A new update means some new changes are taking place
Update Version 1.6.0 (not actually) has been released and has brought new levels to the game, bringing the current (and maybe final given the layout) level count to 50! In the past, we would've ad
