As of today, emulator runs must be done on PCSX2 v2.0.0+. Newer versions of PCSX2 offer better stability and less variation between different PCs. Making the definite switch to modern versions also standardizes the board and ensures everyone is running similar performing versions.

Due to this change, we will also be removing the emulator controller plugin from the resources tab on SRC, as it no longer works on v2.0.0+.

Along with requiring v2.0.0+, frame rate and speed percentages must now be visible on screen, as well as status indicators enabled. You can find these through the following steps:

Settings > Graphics > OSD > Check "Show Speed Percentages", "Show FPS", and "Show Status Indicators"

You must now also specify what version of PCSX2 was used as well as what settings were used in the run description. Settings in this context are the settings under the emulation tab. If no settings were changed, then you don't need to list any. The fastest emulator settings are as follows:

EE Cycle Rate 300%, CDVD Precaching enabled, Optimal Frame Pacing enabled (helps reduce input delay), Fast CDVD Enabled

These changes will not affect runs currently on the leaderboard. They will only impact runs submitted from today onwards.

TLDR

• All emulator runs must be on PCSX2 v2.0.0+.
• Frame rate and speed percentages must be visible on screen, as well as status indicators enabled.
• You must specify what version of PCSX2 was used and, unless left default, what settings were used in the run description.
• Existing runs on the leaderboard are not impacted.

Going forward, Twitch highlights will no longer be accepted for submissions. This comes after Twitch made the decision to cap highlights at 100 hours total, meaning that anyone with over 100 hours of saved highlights to their Twitch will have their highlights automatically deleted on April 19, 2025.

If your runs are on Twitch as highlights and you'd like to move them to another platform for safekeeping, it's strongly advised you either export your highlight to another platform, preferably YouTube, through Twitch's video producer or download your runs off Twitch and manually reupload somewhere else. It's also recommended that you update your runs currently on the leaderboard with a new link for wherever it was reuploaded. YouTube is strongly preferred as a video platform, but not a hard requirement.

This decision will not affect runs that are already verified on the leaderboard; we will not delete any runs that already exist on the board. However, we still encourage everyone to reupload and edit as many of their submissions as they can to prevent losing any of our history. Reuploading would be especially helpful if you're currently over the 100 hour limit and will have your highlights deleted. Runners with less than 100 hours of highlights on their Twitch will be unaffected by automatic deletions but will lose the ability to create new highlights after reaching the limit; even if you aren't at the limit yet, it may be worth it to reupload your runs elsewhere to make room for other highlights you may want in the future.

TLDR, future submissions that use a Twitch highlight will no longer be verified and will instead be rejected with a note to reupload elsewhere before submitting again. Please preserve your speedruns on other platforms like YouTube and edit your existing leaderboard submissions!
