I was interested if a TAS category could be implemented in the leaderboard since i'm interested in TASing the game. since there are no tool for TASing it, i will just slow down the game using cheatengine to simulate perfect imputs

That sounds exciting, TASing this game is something I've been interested in for a while, I haven't tried this method though. Good luck with that!

I'm not sure if the mods will add a TAS category, leaderboards normally don't have one, but you are very welcome to join the discord server. There are lots of people there who would be interested to see how it works out and also give tips on how to optimise levels.

Dont some of the mods splice their video uploads anyways? Thats just a lazier TAS

Id love to see some TAS runs tho! We could all probably learn a few things from them.

i'm not new to speedrunning but i'm new to this game so i'll just learn the most advanced strats in the singular level leaderboards before doing the TAS

For now i still have to get possum mode. are there any save files that i can find with the game already completed 100%?

United Kingdom

I hope you're joking about the mods splicing runs taekwondonuts, that's definitely very against the rules of the leaderboard. If the mods are splicing runs and uploading them as normal runs then we probably need some new mods 😅

Update: i tried a lot of things to make Tasses possible. Using slow mo is really boring and hard, since you have to get used to doing long runs without savestates and a small error would make the run unusable. There are very few tas tools for pc games, and if you try to tas the game on mobile, its impossible, if you try to emulate a console like a ps4, its too much for the pc to handle. So, i tried to search for some tools. I found hourglass but its for 32 bit games only. The other option was LibTAS but it only works on linux and idk if you can install it on linux since the only place i was able to find it on linux via a virtual machine was on steam, and since i didn't want to spend more money to get dadish a second time, i just gave up. So, unless someone codes a program to specificly tas this game, as far as i know its impossible.

Ahh that's a shame. LibTAS is a potential option I guess although I don't know how well it works with steam games. As you say the lack of both save states and perfect input replay is a huge problem. The game engine it runs on (stencyl) is mostly open source and I have spent some time looking to see if there is anywhere I could add in TAS tools, but nothing promising has come up yet.

Since the only option is to slow mo the game, i tried to come up with some ideas. The best one was to play 1 level at a time over and over, until i got the perfect run, then do the same for the other levels and then splice them together instead of playing the entire game. I know splicing is, of course, not allowed, but its a TAS and its just for showcase so who cares.

It will take some time tho

That could be cool, definitely one level at a time is the way to do it for TASes

About the splicing you know all my runs are spliced it’s indeed already known among the community that I use cheat engine splicing happy mod and gameshark to my advantage and splice literally every single pixel and frame in my videos so that I can achieve the perfect run. That’s why all my PB‘s are literally flawless with no mistakes at all and it’s not matching my SOB all the time because I’m making my golds and attempts up.

Splice Monto Mountain Radish WR then.

Then shouldnt u not verify your runs and have them posted on speedrun?

Antarctica

No that’s the point of cheating so you can be 1st on the leaderboard sometimes it takes time to forge a perfect run with cheat engine and splicing
