Well, looks like we might reach sub-18 by the end of this.. But for now, I reclaim the world record with this run. WhaleEleven actually got an 18:31, beating my former world record of 18:45, but he did it offline during practise, so it couldn't be verified unfortunately. Me and him have been back and forth-ing this whole contest.
This run has a 12:23 Renfield exit, my previous PB had an out of nowhere 12:00 Renfield exit so if I could somehow recreate that, sub-18 would have a good chance. My challenges did go very solid, there is not much improvement other than get a little luckier generations on some but things would probably counter-balance with me getting less good gens on other levels.
Also, it is now seeming like for the sub-18 push, I may have to go full risk and go Jimmy on every challenge, which I already did except for the 5 ball challenge and 200k 7 balls challenge, but it's very risky as bad jimmy greens could kill the openers and waste time. I did a test run and there was a definite benefit for rushing 5 ball challenge. 200k, not sure.
It's going to be very tough. Going to need that golden run. Also, I only have a limited amount of time to do this since I'll be doing this around my job and travelling overseas. But we're going to try our best!

Challenges are time-limited speedrunning competitions.
They function very similarly to regular leaderboards except run submission is only allowed within a set time frame.
In addition to that, they may feature unique themes, rules, or objectives that differ from the regular categories. They provide an opportunity to explore different aspects of a game or to celebrate specific events, discoveries, or community milestones.
Challenges within our SRC Series are internally funded and hand-picked to celebrate and give back to our communities. These challenges not only recognize the passion and dedication of our runners but also encourage a more laid-back environment, focused on community collaboration rather than raw competition.
