Alpine Any% Guide/Starting Point

Here's a quick guide on how to run the Alpine Any% Category, My current (unrecorded) PB using this exact route is 19:45. It's very possible to beat this time by a considerable amount if you follow these steps and make less mistakes.

As a heads up, I'm using the PAL version so timing might be slightly different, I don't know for certain though.

First of all, pick Yaggi as your boarder and choose a Type 3 Alpine Board.

When you begin the competition, you will start off on Stadium Kicker. Here's what you need to do

Jump Forwards the moment you're told to go so that you get to top speed. The moment you land your jump, hold down X and start turning in either direction Jump just before the arrows on the end of the ramp Perform a Tail Grab (Down, Down R2) to Meloncholy (Down, R1, L2)

If you are able to land this you should rack up a high enough score to shoot yourself into first place

You'll then do a race at White Resort. Jump Forwards to get to top speed. You'll go back to Stadium Kicker, repeat the same trick. You'll do a race at Sunset Downhil, Jump Forwards to get to top speed,

Your next Big Air will be at Ice Fang. On the AA Any% Guide I told you to Fakie instead of Jumping, but when you're on an Alpine Board YOU CANNOT FAKIE, IT SLOWS YOU DOWN TREMENDOUSLY.

Instead, right as you're told to go hold down X, then half a second later you need to start Spinning in either direction. At the very tip of the Ramp you then Jump and perform the same Tail Grab to Meloncholy trick.

This should shoot you into first place.

You'll then race at Bear in the Forest. You cannot Jump Forward at the start of the race to get to top speed because you start on a downwards slope. Your next Big Air will be at Ice Fang, repeat trick. Your next Race will be at Railroad Trip, jump forwards at the start. Your next Big Air will be at Stadium Kicker, repeat trick. Your next Race will be at Take it Easy, jump forwards. When you come to the part with the trees, you can go through them and off a cliff to avoid doing a rather sharp turn. It's hard to perform at first so I recommend practising it beforehand. It saves around 2-3 seconds. Also once again you can jump forwards at the start.

You then will have to do a Big Air at Titan's Toe. Jump forwards at the start but don't do any tricks, just get to the finish line. You will then come onto Pipeline Canyon, skip this level. Your next Big Air will be Stadium Kicker. Jump forwards and just get to the end of the ramp without performing any tricks. Your next race will then be Freezing Point, skip this level. Your next Big Air will then be Icy Fang, repeat the trick from earlier. Your next Race will be Winding River, you start off on a downwards slope so you cannot jump forwards.

The final Big Air will be Titan's Toe, don't perform any tricks. The final Race will be Snow Ruins, skip this level and stop your timer.

You've done it! That's how you beat the game with an Alpine Board.

Apline Boards are very fast but are quite hard to control and sometimes unresponsive, so I recommend pracitsing with then first.
