Would it be possible to setup a category for runs that get "100%" on everything aside from concept art?
I'll get on it. Where do I submit it to get approved when it's finished?
Personally, I really don't see the point. I'm in the process of routing out 100% as well, and getting the concept art is actually a very interesting "wrench in the works", forcing you to leave the Campaign and go to multiplayer. I saw you (Rune_Kirt) mention somewhere that the Concept Art unlocks was RNG based, which I'm pretty sure isn't the case.
Here's a good guide on getting that wily last percentile:
I know how to grind for them, but the number of units that need to be summoned has been deemed random. The video never states how many of each unit has to be summoned. It just says to keep summoning them until the concept art pops. I remember doing this achievement on the 360 and can't quite remember how many of each unit were needed, but I used a website called trueachievements.com back then for guides to unlocking stuff like that. In the solution for the 100% achievement, the writer states:
Side Note: Here is an estimate of the number of units needed to be built for each type (similar numbers for Drowning Doom and Tainted Coil):
- Headbangers, Razorgirls, Thunderhogs: 20-25 each
- Fire Barons, Headsplitters, Bouncer: 15-20 each
- Roadies, Metal Beasts: 10-15 each
- Rock Crushers: 4-6 each
This is what makes me believe that it is RNG based and you have to hope for low rolls.
However, I did think of something when I was routing today. My stat screen still shows that I have all of the concept art. Even when I start a new game. So what is the method for a fresh start?
"So what is the method for a fresh start?"
- Turn off Steam Cloud saving (Game Properties > Updates)
- Empty the folder "%appdata%/doublefine/brutallegend/<steamid>" (You can keep your prefs.sav file to retain your Options)
I've written myself a little Batchfile to do this for me
An easy way to check if your game is truly fresh or not is just trying to open the Continue or Chapters screens. They'll pop up with "You haven't completed any chapters yet" if your save is clean. This should actually be shown for any runs to be validated IMO.
And am I missing some faster method of skipping cutscenes? I'm using a 360 controller on PC, but all of the other vids seem to instantly skip cutscenes where my play for several seconds longer:/
Bit off-topic for this thread ;) BUT make sure you have "Hi-Fi Sim" turned on in your Options. I have no idea what it means, never seen this kind of option in a game before, but it allows for faster cutscene skipping, and I'm pretty sure it even uncaps/improves FPS at some points.
Wanna conclude my view on this thread.
Only when we absolutely confirm that 100% is
- Impossible on PC or
- Extremely RNG-based (more than Hunting already is)
I don't agree with creating an Artless category. It's not like GTA:Vice City Any% (No SSU), where it's a 10 minute run vs. a 1 hour run. It's 98% the exact same run, with a minor addage. If 100% is doable with less than an hour of time&effort added, you can just do that instead.
