Opinions on adding a low% category? (just a random thought i've had)

Recently i've been speedrunning other games and a run with i've found really fun is low% runs and i thought it'd be intresting to try it with bpr. I was thinking that stuff that is tracked in the pause menu (like smashes, billboards and super jumps) should be avoided and maybe some other stuff which could be considered.

what exactly is low% ? Finishing the game with the least %completion possible ? What if someone submits a low% run and then someone uploads another low% with a lower completion, does it invalidates the other one ? I don't get it

Not a runner (yet), but yeah it's pretty much this. Usually, the game's lowest % gets figured out before setting the category up and then runners just try to get the fastest time on said lowest percentage. The routes will often look drastically different compared to Any% etc.

As for this in BP I'm curious how well it would work in the end. Should be a fun challenge, but I'm wondering if accidentally destroying one billboard would already invalidate the run or if the % will allow for minor mishaps like that.

i feel like it might invalidate the run if smth like that happens cuz the stuff like smashes and billboards can be easily tracked in the pause menu unlike most other games where there is just a percentage, meaning you can see if any more than needed are done.

The mods have already expressed that they weren't fans of making categories if they aren't sure that it's gonna be somewhat active, and honestly this look more like a gimmick challenge run than an actual speedrun category. Not saying the idea is bad, but I think it's not worth a speedrun category, especially since this game has already an insane amount of categories

In theory this could be a misc category and I'm not against it per se, but it feels like it'd end up being more or less a normal license run but much slower because you'd be sticking to roads the whole time. If that sounds like an interesting idea to people then maybe it can be added.

thats fair enough

Update to Individual Level rules regarding mod usage

Hey everyone!

We have decided to update the ruleset for individual level runs (Road rules, Bike events, Burning Routes, etc.) to cover use of external mods for quality of life improvements. This is not a change, but rather an adjustment to reflect the way mods currently are being used by the comm
