Any% Guide

Here's my personal guide that I created for Bone: Out From Boneville! There will probably be some spoilers, but that's a given.
This was 5 pages on paper, so sorry for it being so long!

Big thing to remember, Space is how you skip dialog!

----The run begins as soon as you click "Begin Adventure".----

-Mash Space to skip the intro cutscenes.

-Once the help option pops up, click "No" then immediately head for the small rock below Smiley and interact with it.

-Talk to Smiley and select these dialog options:
"I'm trying to get this thing out from under this rock."
"I'll tell you after I get it out."
"Just stand up, will ya?"

-When the dialog options pop up, change the character Fone is speaking to to Phoney:
"We're lost in th' desert, give him a dollar!"
"Caterwaulin' hobo? Do you really hate Smiley's music so much?"

-Change the character to Smiley and have him play "Old Grey Mare".

-Once Phoney gives you the dollar, open Fone's knapsack, select the dollar and give it to Smiley. This triggers the cutscene leading into the locust chase.

-During the lotus chase, run into every obstacle so you can get caught by them. Once the options pop up to skip the chase, click yes. It saves about 30 seconds.

----End the split immediately after you click yes and the cutscene of Fone falling off the cliff starts playing.----


----Next split start.----

-As soon as you're moving again, do not pick up the cigar stubs. They aren't mandatory and only waste time, but they do act as a guide for where to go.

-At Dragon's Stair, you're going to be doing a lot of jumping and walking. The feet icon indicates where you can jump.

-Jump across the first ledge by clicking near the edge of the other side.

-Jump up the rock stairs by clicking the edges of each

-Head to the left of the rock and click the top of the round slope to jump over and slide down.

-Make a left turn, then keep to the left until you reach the second right turn.

-Turn right, then make a hard right turn followed by a left around a rock.

-Once you get to the last cigar stub, the camera will make a sudden 180 turn. Go right then go forward up the ledge.

-Make another right turn.

-Go up the slope to the pillars. Fone has a line of dialog here that stops you for a second, so be sure to skip it.

-When jumping across the pillars, click on the flat parts of them. Keep doing that until you reach the ledge.

-At the ledge, click where the two dark marks/indents are in the rock. That's where the jumping action icon appears.

-Keep walking forward until the cutscene plays and Fone jumps down.

----End split right when the scenery changed to the Valley and Fone begins sliding down the rock.----


----Next split start.----

-Walk over to the river and talk to Ted. The speaking icon is kinda iffy on him since he's so small so you might end up looking at the river instead. Here's what to say to Ted:
"Have you seen my cousins around?"
"Who's this Thorn? He's not another bug is he?"
"How am I supposed to find this Thorn?"
"Uhh... I don't see a way to cross this river."
"Uhhh... Okay, I guess."

-Here's when you take control of Ted and cross the river. This is the pattern you have to preform to get across:

1. East, South, East / Right, Down, Right / > v >
2. North, North, East / Up, Up, Right / ^ ^ >
3. South, East, North / Down, Right, Up / v > ^
4. South, South, South / Down, Down, Down / v v v
5. West, East, East / Right, Left, Left / > < <
6. East, North, North / Right, Up, Up / > ^ ^
7. North, South, East / Up, Down, Right / ^ v >
8. South, East, North / Down, Right, Up / v > ^
9. North, East, South / Up, Right, Down / ^ > v
10. East / Right/ >

-After the cutscene and you're in control again, head to the right and pick up the cigar stub on the ground.

----End split when the cutscene of Fone walking to the stub to pick it up begins.----


----Next split start.----

-When the dialog options for the Rat creatures pop up, switch to the purple one:
"I wouldn't let him call you fat. You don't look fat to me."

-At this point, the two Rats start talking to each other and you're supposed to sneak away. Only move when they are completely facing each other, as they will notice you even if just their heads are turned. Wait until they both turn their bodies then begin clicking behind Fone. He will begin to back away slowly, but be careful not to click when the Rats are turning back to face Fone.

-Once you've successfully ran away, proceed to skip the cutscene.

----End split right after the cutscene ends and you're back in control of Fone.----


----Next split start.----

-Skip talking to the Great Red Dragon and head to the right then down, entering Possums Clearing.

-Talk to the possum kids:
"Do you know the way to the hot spring?"
"Uh... Well, okay. What do you want ta play?"
"Hide an' seek sounds like fun."

-You're now playing hide & seek. This game has RNG, so the kids will be hiding in different spots every time. Before you check any of the hiding spots, be sure to check if they tell you whether you're hot or cold. You can do this by just clicking the ground to walk to a random spot, which triggers the hot or cold dialog.

-There are surprisingly a lot of spots, of which are: (list will update if more are found)

The mailbox, Behind the tree(left side), Up on the tree branches(left side)
In the fallen tree(Left, Right, and hole), Rock in the bushes, Hole in the dead tree by the bushes
Large rock in front nearest to the screen(by dead tree), Small rock next to the big rock near the entrance to Possum's Clearing, The hallow stump, Rock right next to the stump, Behind the largest rock, Inside the top of the dead tree next to the bush to the spring

-Once you find them all, they will talk to you again:
"Not now guys, you said you'd show me how to get to th' spring."
"Heh. Maybe another time."

-Head left and go through the bush.

----End split right when the cutscene starts.----


----Next split start.----

-The first two dialog options don't matter during this interaction with Thorn, so just choose the first option both times. Then, continue with these options:
"Ted told me to find you! He said you know everything!"
"Ted told me you could help us get back to Boneville?"
"I've been asking around about them but no one's seen 'em."
"Hooray! Pretty soon I'll be back in Boneville!"
"I don't belong here..."
"Where can I find your gran'ma?"
"Okay, I'm ready. Let's go."

-Proceed to skip the cutscene of Thorn looking at the map.

----End split when the screen fades back into the starting Valley area with the rocks.----


----Next split start.----

-You're now Phoney Bone! There are three little dialog bubbles when you move forward three times starting out as him. Pick whatever option then head towards Ted's big brother.

-Talk to Big Brother:
"You seen a guy named Fone Bone around?"
"Yeah, yeah. Whatever."
"Yer nothin' but an overgrown Aphid!"

-When Big Brother gets ready to charge, move Phoney right in front of the rock then push space to skip the rest of the charging animation. This will play a cutscene where Phoney jumps out of the way and Ted's brother rams into the rock, getting knocked out.

-Walk across the fallen tree. There's a small bit of dialog Phoney has when crossing it, which it's skippable.

-Head to the right and pick up the apple on the ground.

-Go forward into the next area.

-Skip talking to the dragon like before and go to the right then down into Possums Clearing.

-Head to the left and talk to the Possum kids:
"Wait a minute, did you say you know Fone Bone?"
"If I give you kids a dollar, will you yell me where Fone went?"
"C'mon, just tell me where Fone Bone went."
"Oh, brother, Fine. Let's make it quick."

-You'll then start the second hide n seek game. This time, you have to direct the kids to Phoney. It's still somewhat RNG based.

Cold = Backwards
Warm = Forwards
Hot = Turn Around

-Once you direct them all to Phoney and the game is done, head through the bushes to the left.

-Ted will automatically talk to you when you enter the next area:
"I'm lookin' for a guy named Fone Bone. You seen him?"
"Take me to Fone Bone at once!"
"Okay, fine. Let's get a move on."
"C'mon then, I ain't got all day!"

----End split as soon as the scene changes to the farmhouse.----


----Next split start.----

-You'll automatically begin talking to Gran'ma Ben:
"Is this your crummy little farm?"

-This begins the cutscene where Phoney gets thrown and ends up next to Fone. After skipping a bit of dialog, Fone will speak to Phoney:
"I'll talk to you later."

-Another dialog bubble will pop up for Fone talking to Gran'ma.
"Thanks ma'am! We're happy ta help!"

-Time for chores! It doesn't really matter which order you do them in, but I'm going with wood first since the other objects needed are on the way to the water.

So, select "Let's get that wood!"

-Click on the ax to interact with it, this causes a cutscene where Ted appears:
"I need to split fire wood, but this ax is stuck,"
"Uh... Sure, Ted."

-Once the cutscene ends, pick up the ax blade.

-Start heading to the well, but first grab a corn cob from the barrel and the small, flat rock on the ground to the left of Gran'ma.

-While walking towards the well, open up Fone's knapsack, grab the corn cob and interact with the bucket next to the well. You'll need to do this to progress and get the water.

-Interact with the well. This triggers a cutscene where Fone talks to Thorn:
"But I saw one! He had a goatee 'n' a cigarette 'n' big ol hairy ears!"

-When the cutscene ends, interact with the well again to talk to the dragon:
"Can you help me out?"
"Can you breathe fire on this corn cob?"
"Please just breathe fire on the corn cob."

-Once the corn pops off the cob, take it out of the knapsack and interact with the bucket again. This will plug the hole.

-Take the bucket out of the knapsack and use it to interact with the well. You now have the water!

-Head back to the right where the firewood is, taking the ax head out of the knapsack and putting it onto the vertical log.

-Take the rock out of the knapsack and interact with the ax head. This will split the log in half. You now have the fire wood!

-Go talk to Gran'ma twice, selecting these dialog options:
"Finished with the wood!"
"Here's your water, ma'am!"

----End split when the cutscene fades and changes to Phoney.----


----Next split start.----

-Go to the right through Possum’s Clearing, and skip talking to the kids for now as you make your way to the right and up to go back to the apple tree.

-Once there, go all the way to the left and talk to Big Brother:
"Cool yer jets, pal. I need your help."

-This will trigger another charging sequence. Move Phoney directly under the apples then press space to skip the rest of the charging animation.

-Once Phoney grabs the apples, head back to Possums Clearing and talk to the kids:
"Say, that's a nifty spade you guys got there..."
"You kids wanna play a game or somethin'?"
"How 'bout if I tell ya a story..."
"It's a story about something really exciting..."

-Keep choosing the first option until the Possum kids faint.

-Pick up the spade then make your way through the bushes to the left and all the way to the turnip plants.

-While Phoney is walking to the turnip plants, open the knapsack and pull out the spade.

-Use the spade to interact with the plant stem to dig the turnips out of the ground. The hit box for the turnip stem is kinda small and wonky, so there might be a possibility of missing it on your first few tries.

-Once Phoney has dug up the turnip, the screen will fade.

----End split when the cutscene fades out and changes to Phoney going back to the farm.----


----Next split start.----

-This one goes by fairly quick. Just keep talking to Phoney by selecting the first option until a new dialog option appears. Select it to progress:
"Yawn..."

-Another dialog option will pop up from Gran'ma:
"Yeah...."

----End split when the cutscene fades to black and changes scenes to Kingdok.----


----Final split start----

-Once you skip the cutscene with Kingdok and the Rat Creatures, there is an unskippable cutscene. It's about 50 seconds long, so feel free to drink a bit of water while it plays.

-After skipping the cutscene after the unskippable one, you'll go through another chase sequence like at the beginning of the game. The same stuff applies for this one, run into as many obstacles as possible until you get caught. The best way to do it is to wait until a Rat Creature starts moving forward and get right in its path so it can catch you and drag you back.

-When the dialog to skip the sequence comes up, click yes.

----Split right after you click yes and the cutscene begins to fade.----


And there you go! The run is done! you can watch the next two cutscenes if you want, but the credits are unskippable.
